"Do you want to pl-" Nanami's cut off by Tsumiki's stomach growling. Tsumiki looks absolutely mortified. Nanami decides that, no, another game probably won't happen until Tsumiki gets some food in her. "Do you want to go get something to eat?"
"O-oh, I don't mean to be a bother, really, I'm not hungry, we can play again," Tsumiki says. Nanami shakes her head, because she's almost totally certain that Tsumiki is very, very hungry and has been for a while.
"We can picnic. On the beach," Nanami says, because that's a good place to picnic, she's pretty sure. Romantic. Tsumiki blushes, but nods, and Nanami takes her hand and leads her to the grocery store. "What do you want?"
But Tsumiki just shakes her head. "I don't want to…" she trails off, and Nanami decides that she's probably not going to get anywhere, so she just silently takes a basket to put it all in and fills it with the essentials. She gets chips, and she gets soda, and she throws in a few pre-made sandwiches, too. Some candy bars.
"Isn't this unhealthy?" Tsumiki asks. Nanami looks at her questioningly. "O-oh, I didn't mean to sound so rude, really, it's fine."
Nanami adds a bag of apples. "Is this better?" she asks. "I don't eat much healthy food."
"Perfect," Tsumiki says. She can't seem to help a slightly giddy smile spread over her face. "I can carry – oh!"
She trips over her own feet, does an almost perfect front flip, and lands on her shoulders with her legs up in the air. Nanami blinks and puts down the basket to help her up. Tsumiki apologizes profusely. Her face is bright red. Nanami makes sure that she's totally steady before letting go of her.
"I'll carry the basket," she says, and then she yawns. She's a bit tired.
"I'm boring you, aren't I?" Tsumiki asks, and she sounds suddenly afraid. Nanami shakes her head.
"No… no… I'm just a little tired, that's all. I stayed up late last night," she says, and this isn't entirely true, but Tsumiki isn't boring her. "Let's go."
They end up settling down underneath a tree for some shade – Nanami isn't used to being out in the sun, and her general outfit is a bit hot in the sun, and Tsumiki obliges with everything Nanami wants, and if she seems like she doesn't want to, she'll start apologizing for being 'forward' or 'rude', so Nanami isn't quite sure what to do except make sure that Tsumiki is happy.
"Do you want a soda?" Nanami asks, pulling out a pop and offering it to her. It's slick with condensation, and it slips right out of Tsumiki's grip and rolls across the beach. "Oh. Sorry."
She gets up and makes to go get it, despite Tsumiki's protests. When she gets back and puts the drink back in Tsumiki's hand, she closes Tsumiki's other hand over it, to make sure that it won't go sliding again. Tsumiki blushes a furious red, and Nanami can feel her cheeks heating up a little, too, if only because Tsumiki is blushing.
"T-thank you," Tsumiki says, and it's quiet for a bit. "Nanami-san… do you really like spending time with me?"
"Yes," Nanami says. "Why?"
"Because… because someone as beautiful and nice as you couldn't possibly want to spend time with me," Tsumiki says.
"I like you."
Tsumiki blushes again, and Nanami smiles a little into her sandwich. She likes making Tsumiki happy. They eat in relative silence until most of the food is gone – Tsumiki doesn't eat much, Nanami realizes, and keeps looking at her nervously, so she tries to look encouraging each time – and when they stand up to go, Tsumiki speaks again.
"Nanami-san?"
"Hm?"
"T-thank you," Tsumiki says, and Nanami nods.
"Thank you," she repeats, and Tsumiki gives her an awkward, happy smile.
Out of everyone here, Tsumiki is definitely one of her favorites.
This was requested by a user on Tumblr, who wanted a Nanami/Tsumiki! I've never written Nanami before, and Tsumiki only a few times, but I think this turned out OK? Either way, here we go!
