Flynn stood at the top and very close to the edge of a high cliff in the Outlands, and where he stood he had a great view that overlooked all of Tron City that glowed brightly in the distance. Someone approached him from behind and he spun around on his heels to see his Program CLU. The Program was walking briskly in a manner he always did, but instead of his regular serious expression he seemed quite confused. The Program pulled Flynn away from the edge, afraid the User might fall to his death with one slip up that could be surely here to come at any given moment. And that was something he didn't want to be a witness to. The User chuckled at his Program's cautious behavior and padded him on the shoulder in approval.
"Ah CLU! Lighten up a bit will ya! Its the fourth of July come on seriously man!" Flynn laughed wrapping an arm around his Program's shoulders and holding him tightly. CLU tried to pushed off his User but all his attempts failed as a question floated and set down in his brain. Looking at his cheeky User he raised a brow in questioning.
"What's the 'fourth of July'?" CLU questioned. Flynn gave him a shy smile and looked back over at Tron City.
"Its a day in the real world that we celebrate our independence, at the end of the day we light fireworks." Flynn answered. CLU was about to question what 'fireworks' were when Flynn gestured his hand to the dimming city out in the distance and Tron soon joined the two at the top of the cliff, explaining that the "surprise" was now ready. "Ah perfect timing Tron! CLU these are fireworks!" Out in the distance of the Outlands, a stream of light shot up and over Tron City, CLU seemed to be afraid it was some sort of bomb, but once it reached the peak of the skyline it exploded into streams of light and CLU was baffled. But the lights known as fireworks, he seemed to enjoy them and he gave a smile. "No wait, there's more." CLU and Tron stared off in the same direction as their Creator, more streams of light flying up into the air and exploding in many different colors. Red, blue, orange, white, green, purple, it was all such an amazing thing.
"So you get to witness this every 'fourth of July'?" CLU asked curiously and Flynn smile lightly and looked back to the fireworks as they continued to perform their show.
"Well, not all the time, but whenever I can I do. So how do you like it? Pretty isn't it?" Flynn asked and looked back to Tron tilting his head asking him the same question." The two Programs gave the Creator a smile and continued to the watch until the last firework exploded in aray of colors.
"That was a very fascinating performance, well I have work I must attend to, I'll be going then." Tron said activating his lightcycle and driving off. Flynn turned to CLU.
"It was amazing, we should do this on every 'fourth of July'." CLU said with a childish smile, the first he had made since he had been created. Flynn just returned the smile and turned around, CLU following his lead as the two made their way back to the city.
