"I just don't understand why you have to do it." Lily said. She stood with a hand on her hip, the other one gesturing wildly at random objects and at random moments.

James was sat on the couch, much like a child being reprimanded by his parents. "I don't know. It's fun." He added, almost sheepishly.

Lily's eyes widened. "Fun? FUN!" She started randomly gesturing again. "You think its fun to humiliate someone on a daily basis. A fellow student!"

"Now, Lily. I don't think that's fair." James leaned forward, "A daily basis is highly inaccurate, and anyway, I'm trying to cut down."

"I cannot believe what I am hearing! Cut down! You talk about pranking like its food!"

"Its just a bit of harmless fun."

"Its bullying and you know it."

"Now, that's a little harsh."

"James."

"Lily."

James stood up and took Lily's hand. "Look, I'm sorry, okay. I just… lost my temper."

"That's no excuse. If you jinx someone every time you lose your temper, then I'm sorry, but I don't see a future with you. I need to be able to trust you and not be afraid of you."

"Wait. You're afraid of me?" James looked shocked.

"No, not of you, not really. Just, sometimes when you pull those pranks, it seems like you're only doing it because you like it and you want to deliberately hurt others. That's what scares me."

James pressed his lips against Lily's forehead in a soft kiss. "I'm sorry, I really am. I don't want you to be afraid of me, Lily. I love you."

Lily smiled slightly. "I love you too."
