Title: Single Together
Chapter One: Good Date?
Author's Note: So I've started a new story, I may or may not continue with What You Get, it depends on my mood and how much time I find myself with. I just felt like writing something and putting it out into the ether, so, here goes:

Lorelai quietly shuts Rory's door and sighs. She feels terrible for the poor girl. Bad dates suck, no matter how old you are or how few you've been on. They're just the worst.
She moves through the kitchen, placing their coffee mugs in the sink and turning off the lights. As she walks back into the living room she smiles softly. Her evening had been far from a bad date; it was wonderful.
A date?
No, it wasn't a date, just a movie night. Two single, lonely adults having a movie night. Not a date. Not a date.
She walks over to the couch and stares down at Luke's slumbering form. She reaches down and removes his hat, figuring that he might as well be comfortable if he's going to sleep on her horrible couch. As she shrugs the blanket back up to his shoulder, Luke stirs, blearily opening his eyes.
"Lorelai?" he sits up, blinking quickly. "What happened? Did I fall asleep?"
Lorelai chuckles, "Yes, and during hardbodies. I don't know how you did it."
"Sorry," Luke sheepishly replies, yawning a bit.
"Why don't you just sleep here for the night Luke? You're not opening tomorrow right?" Lorelai asks, gently urging him to lie back down.
"Ceasar's opening," Luke replies sleepily, falling back toward the pillows.
"Good," Lorelai whispers, pulling the blanket back up onto his body.
She smiles as Luke closes his eyes. She gently reaches over and touches his cheek. He smiles softly, eyes still closed, and she gets up, turning to walk up the stairs. As she gets to the first landing she hears Luke's low, sleepy voice behind her,
"This was fun. I promise to stay awake next time."
"I'll hold you to that," Lorelai giggles softly.
She smiles and walks up to her bedroom. Next time? She would love a next time. Another great date.
Wait. A date?
