The drizzling sound of the rain numbed her mind. Made her motionless as she stared unblinkingly at the streak of dim light that had managed to find an opening through the deep olive green cotton drapes. The visible dusts swirling around the light, dancing, taunting her to move a muscle, draw open the curtain and bathed in light. Still she sat there on the edge of the bed. Aside from the up and rise motion of her chest when she breathed, she's an exact replica of one of them. A figure of a perfect porcelain doll. Beautiful… yet fragile.

So easily broken…

It came without warning. An image of a person's eyes. So cold yet full of burning fire of hatred. Though there was no sound accompanied it, it felt like the eyes had just screeched at her over and over again until –

The sense of being watched made her awareness to the world around her came back to life. She bid her time. Threading them even as she tried to slow down her frantic heartbeat. The sudden memory was only one of the many that she tried – but failed – to bury. Almost free but still chained too. Her heartbeat finally slowed down though it turned out to be much longer than she expected.

Out of the blue, thunder crackled the sky outside, made the room bright for a few second, blinded her eyes for a while and made her jumped out of her skin. Quick as lightning, a hand snaked around her, pulling her into an embrace. A protective but still gentle warmth surrounded her and calmed her almost-even-but-then-rose-up-again heartbeat. A bit annoyed but still she thanked the thunder, she snuggled into his chest, fully aware of his untold wish in wanting her to go back to sleep. Despite the sound of the thunder as her lullaby, the warmth was the last thing she remembered as she drifted into unconsciousness.
