~Kate

When Kate opened the door, she was engulfed in a tight embrace. She and her younger sister Alexis stayed like that for a while. When she moved back a little Kate truly saw what her few months absence and worry had done to her sister. Waist length red flaming hair now had a dull brownish tint, bright blue eyes had turned a slightest shade darker the spark that had once existed Inside gone, she wondered if her escapades had truly scarred her sister. She was young, she had seen things most sixteen year olds shouldn't see. Hell some people don't even see this sort of stuff in their lifetime. Hugging Alexis once more Kate held her at arms length. She notices that Alexis's clothes were a little looser than they should have been. She thought that she did not look much better either, being kidnapped, stabbed, shot at and dropped in the Hudson River by a helicopter. However, she was sure what had happened with Alexis was twenty times worse compared with what she herself had been through.

~ Alexis

Alexis was staring into space when she heard the front door unlock. She sprinted to it hoping it was her sister. Sure enough, Kate who had been kidnapped and had god knows what done to her had finally come home. Alexis flung her arms around her older sister. They stayed in the embrace for some time and when Kate held Alexis back slightly as if to examine the damage, Alexis also saw that her beautiful sister who used to have porcelain skin, wavy brunette locks and gleaming green eyes transformed into a shell of what she had been. The milky skin had been slightly browned by the sun and had a magnitude of scratches, bruises and she swears there is even a knife slash across Kate's waist. She sees the slash because the blood soaking her sister's torn and dirty shirt had made it slightly transparent. The flowing brown locks were straight and limp, even her eyes had dulled. All in all, Kate looked like she had been to hell and back. Twice.

~ 3 months later

The Beckett sisters had arranged to meet Rick for lunch in a little bistro. Both had filled out a little, sparks back in both sets of eyes. Alexis's hair had started to go red again and Kate's hair curled again a few weeks before. Kate's bruises had mostly faded and you could barely see the knife scar. A few minutes after Rick sat down they were chatting animatedly as i nothing out of the ordinary had happened. All three were grinning, they would be fine.
