close your eyes and count to ten
Close your eyes and count to ten
but that's not enough time for me to run.
I hide
and you seek
and yet
you always know
And ten is never enough.
Seven is never enough: six people
you catch one by one and string
as lanterns to light your way
And the last, the one you savour
most of all
wins your mask as you take
that final place
At the city's height.
I close my eyes and count to ten

The city will have you all.
