To those who are reading this story for the first time welcome! I am Dragon Ninja of Darkness; please move on to the real first chapter, you do not have to read any further.
For those of you who have remained loyal through my procrastinations and self loathing please continue forward.
Some of you may remember, a while back I did a 're-write' where I took this story down and, lost all my loyal followers and heartwarming reviews. However even during that time I still did not know where the story and characters were going; and perhaps I still do not. Thus I remained true to what I had done. This destroyed what was the very point of a 're-write' in the first place.
Some, if not all of you, may have noticed that the story has gone from 12 chapters to a mere 6 including this authors note. I do not mean to deceive or offend anyone. I merely felt this is what I had to do. I re-read my... Or rather our story as I feel it has become just as much your story; probably hundreds of times during it's unofficial hiatus and to unwind during my recent diplomas. And I felt that my original intention had not been portrayed. It had shone through in some of the later chapters, and some people had seen that.
But as of late I have completely re-written, and I do mean it this time many of the original 12 chapters, (as in they have in some cases doubled in length) and I have a clearer vision in mind of where and how the characters are going to go.
I am very sorry to have to do this to you again. And I almost wish I had never posted this story so you wouldn't have to experience this torment, however at the same time without your guidance it is likely that I would have never come up with these amazing ideas on my own. You inspire me. Both your kind words and your more constructive comments.
Do not worry though the essence of the story is still the same, I have just put much more emphasis on the things that, in the beginning were ment to be emphasised in the first place. You can expect from me the following quality and length from all of the chapters I will write in the future.
I cannot and will not promise that this will be the last re-write of Breaking Away, after all it is labeled 'In Progress' for a reason; and I am always coming up with new and better ideas. But I will promise that every time I do it, the story will only get better and better and you can look forward to every version I create. I can only hope that you will stay with me as you have done thus far.
