Broken Mirror
Disclaimer: I don't own Once Upon A Time or any of the Characters.
He punched the mirror in his rage and some of the glass shards broke off and fell to the floor. The words that she had cruelly spoken to him moments ago were still swirling around in his head. Rumple could hardly believe that she had spoken those words to him. She didn't see what he was trying to do, he was just trying to keep his family together.
Rumple had failed in the past and he was determined not to fail this time. This was his second chance at happiness and his real chance to get things right. He stared at the man in the broken mirror and he hated what was reflected back at him. He was a monster, he had had hurt so many people in his quest to do the right thing but he had not done the right thing. Not really.
He had realised that now, Belle had been right in what she had said. He had become the beast again and after everything he had gone through to be seen as a man once more, he would not go backwards. Rumple knew that if he was going to win Belle and his family back then he had to change for good this time and make it stick. He had to become a better man.
Rumple loved his power and the thrill it gave him but he had realised in these past few months while he was alone that he loved Belle more. He would start his plan by getting his revenge on the Evil Queen. She had treated him like a puppet and been pulling his strings but he was finally ready to cut his strings. Then he would turn his attention to the Wicked Witch and she too would feel his wrath.
He now smiled at his reflection in the broken mirror and he saw the man that he used to be. The man who had won Belle's heart all those years ago. Rumple knew how he would go about getting his revenge and in the process he would show Belle that he was becoming a better man. Rumple could then start winning back her affections for him in the proper way.
