As I look and reflect upon our lives over the years I've truly come to love my friendship with Jane, Barry, Korsak, Frankie, Tommy, and of course Angela. I just can't begin to fathom them not entering into my life at all, for they have a piece of my heart forever. Its funny though when thinking about them how we seems as though we don't fit in each others lives but that's just let's you know as Jane would say "Don't judge a book by its cover". My parents couldn't have even imagine their daughter, me Maura Dorethea Isles, ever could be friends with Jane and her not so quiet crew. I often times blush with just the mentioning of the Rizzoli family and as well as two of the other BPD finest detectives. You see, you have to understand that years ago I had a terrible time making friends, being teased for my unusual knowledge of books, my blunt expression, my tortoise named Bass, and dare I say being wealthy just didn't help at all. For years I often wondered why people, mainly Garrett Fairfield and Ian Faulkner would befriend me, until some time later that I realised its because of my family's name and what the Isles Foundation could do for them or benefit from. It wasn't until I met Jane that I've learned that not all people are greedy, manipulative, arrogant, or selfish. Okay, c'mon I do get it that there is a fine line between distinguishing someone for certain motive e.i., take my biological mother Hope for example and my half-sister Catlin, and we all know how that ended so far. Anyway back to my friends, first off is Tommy. Even though Jane hates it when he does stupid things sometimes, he really is sweet, caring, being a good dad to his son T.J., and loves to interact with his siblings. It just amazes me how Jane and him are so alike yet so opposite. Frankie, of course who idles his sister, those two get along very well plus I just love their friendly little bantering towards each other. It was touch and go for awhile when both of the Rizzoli brothers liked me and that wasn't such a good idea because I, being friends with Jane, she knew that it could cause a rip between our friendship as well as her brothers. Being the only child growing up, I've never experienced sibling interactions. Judging by these three it seems rather nice. Barry, Jane's partner and friend, I say working along side him and becoming good friends, he is the most standup kind of guy that anyone would have the pleasure of knowing plus he's protective of Jane. Angela, what can I say she is the most unlikely type of mother that I'm not use to, giving how my own adopted mother precedes me. It took awhile to get used to Angela's tactics, been I supposed Italian and all, there's alot of hugging and kissing on the cheeks. Not that I don't mind though but it did took a moment. Also don 't get me wrong about my mother, she just wasn't the hugging type of person who raised me with nannies and servants throughout my childhood. Korsak, to me he is like Jane's second father figure and perhaps mines as well. He was once Jane's partner earlier on before I met her but under certain circumstances they remained as good friends as well. And of course Jane, my best friend and somewhat like a sister to me, she is so selfless, funny, very sarcastic, and protective. I say "protective" because she doesn't like it when some people mainly tries to hurt me or her family and partners. We all know to have each others' back when need be and I feel that we have the best bond ever! So as I sit here at our favorite bar and grill, the Dirty Robber, toasting to yet again a solved case, I just had to confess to them all on my friendship and love amongst us through the years and how so important that they mean to me. I'm very proud to be friends and family to the best group of people that I know. To all of us, Cheers!
