After Queen Chrysalis got blasted away from Canterlot Castle in the episode "A Canterlot Wedding", she wanted to get revenge on Twilight Sparkle for helping Princess Cadence and Shining Armor blast Queen Chrysalis away. Sometime later, Chrysalis met up with King Sombra and Lord Tirek to plot revenge on Twilight Sparkle, and they eventually teamed up. Back at Canterlot Castle, they found an unguarded Roflcopter while Princess Cadence and Shining Armor were out on their honeymoon. So they decided to steal the Roflcopter and use it to find Twilight Sparkle.
Meanwhile at the mall, Twilight Sparkle was shopping for clothing and jewelry for the Fall Formal, until she noticed a Roflcopter crash into the mall skylights, with a fleet of Changelings flying into the mall and all the customers were scared away. She then noticed that Queen Chrysalis returned for her revenge, and then King Sombra took Twilight and held her captive in the Roflcopter and flew about 20 miles into a forest.
After a long flight, Lord Tirek pushed Twilight Sparkle off the Roflcopter and fell until she landed into a puddle of mud. She was so dirty, she had to clean herself up. Luckily, she found a river and was able to get herself cleaned up.
As she was wandering around the forest for a way out, she then saw Flash Sentry, Spike, Sunset Shimmer, The Cutie Mark Crusaders, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Applejack, who were all stranded in the forest, and then volunteered to help them. Twilight found an abandoned truck which needed to be fixed. Fortunately, Flash Sentry had just enough gas to fill up the truck's tank, so he filled up the gas tank in the truck, activated AWD, and started the engine. He then told everybody to pack their belongings, told Twilight Sparkle, Spike, and Sunset Shimmer to get in the front seat of the truck. They found a way out of the forest, and went on a highway that would take them to the Fall Formal.
Meanwhile, Roflcopter sounds were heard, and everybody wondered what those sounds were and where they came from, until Twilight discovered that Chrysalis, Sombra, and Tirek were after them, which lead to an epic battle against the trio. Chrysalis attacked them by using the Roflcopter to push the truck off of the highway which nearly crashed but Flash managed to get back on the road. Chrysalis released another fleet of Changelings on the truck, but Twilight's friends fought them all off.
They all jumped on the Roflcopter to fight the trio and cause the Roflcopter to lose control. Right before the final blow, they managed to sabotage the controls and get off of the Roflcopter just before it crashed. Then the Roflcopter crash-landed and exploded right into a corn field that caused all of the crops to turn into popcorn.
Shortly after the explosion, Princess Cadence and Shining Armor finally returned from their honeymoon, and noticed their Roflcopter was stolen and that there was a huge explosion. They fled right to the scene to see if Twilight Sparkle and her friends were fine. Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, and Lord Tirek all survived the explosion, but they noticed police Roflcopters landing at the scene alongside with Princess Cadence and Shining Armor who were going to make them pay $20 grand for a replacement Roflcopter, and they got arrested.
Princess Cadence and Shining Armor thanked Twilight Sparkle and her friends for stopping the trio. Twilight Sparkle and all her friends managed to get to the Fall Formal just on time, and they celebrated their victory having the time of their lives.
