Hello everyone and welcome to my story. Right now I'm still working on rewriting it.

Everything with "EDITED" in the title is rewritten and everything with "NEW" in the title is completely new and was not there when I first wrote this story. I hope you enjoy.

Because I have a rather busy live, it takes a while for me to update so I'm really really sorry in advance. I'll try to update when I can.

I do not own Magi or the characters. Eleanor is mine.

Chapter 1 Edited: Is this a Dream?

"I'm home," Eleanor called down the hall as she closed the front door behind her. A sigh escaped her lips as silence fell across the house once more. Why do I even bother? It's not like anyone's going to answer.

It had been years since she had heard the phrase "welcome home." Not since her mom's death and her dad's spiral into depression. You would think that she would have gotten used to it by now.

On her way to her room, Eleanor stopped in the kitchen to check the fridge. To her surprise she found a pot of cold soup. Did Dad finally make something?

Whenever he was hungry, her father would snap out of his little world and cook something. Normally it would be only enough for himself though. Curious, Eleanor head upstairs with her newly heated dinner and knocked on her parents' room door. No answer. "Dad?" Still nothing. She sighed. "Thanks for the soup," she said before heading down the hall to her own room. What had I been expecting anyway? It's not like he would have changed after so many years. I bet I could be dead in my room and he wouldn't notice until the rotting smell reached him.

With that in mind, she threw her book bag down on her bed before sitting beside it and eating. Eventually, she pulled out her laptop. The new chapter of Magi should be coming out any day now, she thought, immediately searching for it before sighing. "Nope." She closed her laptop and looked at her bookbag. Option 1: Do my homework. Option 2… She yawned, her hand reaching for a pillow. Take a nap. Her head touched the pillow and her eyelids drooped. She only barely noticed the uncomfortable feeling of her snake cuff earrings digging into her ear. Maybe I should take those out before I break them. Even as she thought this, she has already begun to drift into her own dreams.

"I've found you!" An unfamiliar voice echoed through the room. Eleanor jumped, feeling a tug on her ear as the pillow fell into her lap, before she looked around her darkened bedroom. There was no one there. Great, now I'm hearing things too? Maybe it was some dream. Rubbing the sleep from her eye lazily, she glanced out the window. She must have been sleeping for a while considering it was so dark outside. Then again, it did get dark fairly quickly in December. The thought of winter made her shiver and she instantly reached for her jacket that had been abandoned beside her bookbag. She was NOT a winter person. Her and cold did not mix.

A yawn sent her thoughts to a halt and she curled back up on her bed. Just as she was about to go back to sleep...

"Are you the one?" The voice came again, making Eleanor freeze. She held her breath as she listened intently. Slowly, she got up from her bed and began walking to the door. "Hello?" Before she could do anything more the floor opened up beneath her and she...

She screamed as loud as she could, her eyes closing for a moment in terror. Moments passed but she still felt the horrible feeling of dropping. Her throat began to dry and hurt from the screaming and her lungs began to burn from lack of oxygen. She could already imagine the splatter mark she would leave on whatever ground she would fall on, which wasn't the most comforting thought. In a morbidly humorous way, she wondered what others would think. 'Eleanor, the girl who felt through her bedroom floor and left behind a red stain.' How did the floor give out anyways? Was the house infested with termites? Did they maybe make her floor weak? She supposed it was something for someone else to figure out since her life was already flashing before her eyes. And what a short life it was.

Eleanor frowned. What was taking so long for her to go splat? If I open my eyes, I'd better not see the ground right in front of my nose. I don't want to see my death up close. She opened her eyes in curiosity to see… sky? She felt her stomach drop and her heart rate increase, if that was even possible at this point. She looked around in mortified terror as she realized she was falling out of the sky, and the ground was coming closer! In fact the ground was an island in the middle of the ocean. Where had that come from?

Dear God! What is going on? Someone save me! I don't want to die yet! Tears formed in her eyes as the wind stung her skin. As she got closer to the ground, she could tell she was going to fall into an abandoned field. But wait… it wasn't abandoned. She wasn't sure how she had seen the lone figure in the field when she was still so high up. Maybe her sense of imminent death had heightened her senses? "Watch out!" she yelled on impulse, almost laughing at her stupidity. Yeah, I don't want to get my blood all over you, she thought sarcastically.

The person looked up. Noticing her, the person jumped into the air, greeting her in her fall with his hands outstretched. Wait what? Freaking circus man. Jumping so high. She fell into his hands so gently she almost wondered where physics went on vacation. Considering her fall and the man's upwards momentum, she was sure she should have impacted a little bit harder, but hey, let's just leave all that math-related stuff behind. He gracefully, and just as gently, landed on the ground before placing her down on sweet sweet land, feet first thankfully.

"Oh my God! Thank you so much!" Eleanor exclaimed. She was saved! She wasn't dead! She looked up to face her savior only to falter. Her mouth fell open. "Sh-Sharrkan!?" The man who caught her had the dark skin and white hair… and even the same clothes that he wore in the manga! What the hell is going on? "If you're cosplaying, you totally win."

He looked at her in shock and confusion. "How…" but he didn't finish as he looked over his shoulder for a moment. Eleanor followed his gaze to see Yamraiha, a magician from the same manga, running over. "I felt something weird this way; did you see anything, Sharrkan?" she called out. She slowed down when she saw Eleanor watching over Sharrkan's shoulder. Yamraiha's eyes widened.

"Yamraiha too?" Eleanor said out loud in wonder, her head tilting to the side in curiousity. How the heck are they so good at cosplaying? Their clothes look so accurate, even down to the smallest details. She had tried cosplaying once; sadly, it didn't turn out so well.

"How…" Yamraiha said the same thing as Sharrkan had.

Eleanor ignored her. Instead, she reached up to pull at Sharrkan's hair. I bet this is just some crazy wig.

"Ow!" the Sharrkan cosplayer exclaimed. Eleanor's grip loosened as her eyes widened, allowing the man a chance to pull away. The hair didn't feel like a wig and it didn't have the texture of fake hair coloring. It was soft and... real.

"You can't be real. You're in a book," she whispered to herself. She looked around, finally noticing the castle that was visible even from here. "Sindria…" She covered her mouth immediately, glad that they didn't seem to have heard, feeling that somehow showing she knew stuff wasn't a good idea.

"She knew my name too," Sharrkan spoke, answering Yamraiha's ignored question as he eyed the girl suspiciously and held a hand to his hair where she had pulled it. But Eleanor had stopped paying attention again. She took a few steps away for them and began to pace back and forth, a habit of hers when she was confused. "This isn't possible…" she mused aloud. "How could I be here? I was in my room. Then I was in the sky… That definitely doesn't make sense… Did I fall asleep watching anime again? No, I specifically remember turning off my laptop." She paused mid-step. "Thats it! I'm still sleeping!" she exclaimed with a smile. "This would be the best dream ever… next to Mom…" she frowned as she continued her pacing and talking as the two watched her. "Maybe I should just play along? Yah, it has to be a dream. There's no other way. Doesn't matter how early it was. I'm probably still asleep. So the first thing I need to know is what time period my dream is in..." She suddenly stopped and turned to them. "Are Aladdin and Alibaba here?"

"How did you know?" Sharrkan's eyes widened, but the girl wasn't listening anymore as she paced back and forth again. He leaned over to Yamraiha with his brows furrowed together. "What is she saying?"

Yamraiha shook her head and watched the girl's every move. "Besides when she asked about Aladdin and Alibaba, everything else is gibberish. I've never heard whatever language it is and I already tried casting my magic translation but its not working."

"Not working?" He looked at the magician in surprise.

Yamraiha shook her head. "Something's… protecting her... from magic." She sounded confused. As the girl turned around in her pacing, the sunlight reflected off a golden snake intertwined with the girl's ear. There was a soft glow coming from it. After a few moments the glow was gone.

"It's a dream, it's a dream, it's a dream. It's got to be a dream." Eleanor's words were not helping. Something was nagging at the back of her mind that she was wrong, but she couldn't understand why. She paused when she saw movement at the corner of her eye. She looked up to see Sinbad running in their direction. Sinbad eyed her as he spoke with Yamraiha and Sharrkan. "I saw some kind of spark in the sky. Is everything ok?" He questioned.

"I felt a shift in the Rukh." Yamraiha informed him.

"I heard someone yelling so I looked up and the girl was falling from the sky so I caught her but she somehow knew my name… and she has weird clothing…" Sharrkan told his story.

"And she speaks a strange language that I can't translate," Yamraiha added

"Strange?" Eleanor asked in surprise. "Can you not understand me?"

"I can," Sinbad answered, looking at Yamraiha in confusion.

"So can I. She has switched languages." Yamraiha informed him.

"No I haven't," Eleanor protested. "I've been speaking the same language all this time."

"She's switched to Heliohaptian…" Sharrkan added in surprise.

"Heliohaptian?" Eleanor frowned. That sounded familiar. "What the heck is th-... Oh right, your homeland." How the heck am I speaking Heliohaptian? I've never learned it. I've never even heard it. Without realizing it, Eleanor had begun pacing again.

Sharrkan eyed her suspiciously, wondering how she had known of his homeland. However, she did not seem to notice his reaction.

"Back to speaking Sindrian," Sinbad said to himself before turning to his two generals. They began to speak, excluding Eleanor.

This is just a dream. Just play along, she told herself, stopping her pacing and looking around at her surroundings, the wind blowing gently on her face. This wind is so real… Off guard, she heard Sinbad's order too late. "Sharrkan, take her. We will have to question her at the castle."

Eleanor squeaked in shock as Sharrkan easily scooped her up off the ground and over his shoulder, but she didn't resist as he began to follow Sinbad. "I'm not a sack of potatoes, you know," she grumbled, crossing her arms in annoyance. When she got no answer, she looked closer at the back of Sharrkan's clothes. He really was a detailed version of Sharrkan; she could even feel the warmth of his touch… She had to give this dream credit, it was so lifelike.

Sharrkan carried Eleanor into a room she had never seen in the manga or anime. There was just a table and two chairs. Sinbad sat in one. Sharrkan placed her down on another. "So, explain yourself," Sinbad said with a friendly smile. Eleanor just looked around shyly. Sharrkan and Yamraiha stood guard at the door. Even if I wanted to escape, which I don't, I wouldn't get far with these three here. She turned to look over Sinbad. Was this really a dream? She was really doubting her first idea… but what else would make sense?

"I… My name is Eleanor." She started, looking directly into his eyes.

"L-ee-nor? What a strange name," Sinbad mumbled to himself. "Your clothes are strange too. Where do you come from?"

"America," she supplied, watching his reaction.

"A-merry-ka?" Sinbad tried to pronounce it with furrowed eyebrows. "I've never heard of it."

"Probably not… It's on a planet called Earth." She was about to say more when Sinbad raised a hand to stop her.

"Why are you switching languages?" he asked her in confusion.

She frowned. "But I'm not..." She looked at Sinbad only to see his eyebrows furrowed.

Yamraiha stepped closer. "She said, 'But I'm not.' She spoke in the Torran Language."

Eleanor looked at Yamraiha in surprise. "I what? But… isn't that like a dead language?"

Yamraiha and Sinbad nodded. Apparently she had switched back to a language they all understood. "So will you answer why you keep switching languages?" Sinbad propted.

"I freaking told you already!" Eleanor exclaimed, standing up. "I. Am. Not. I've been speaking good old English all this time!" She began to pace back and forth. "Wait. How the hell would you understand English?" She stopped in front of Sharrkan. "Quick. What language am I speaking?"

Sharrkan blinked. "Sindrian?"

"But it sounds like English!"

"I've never heard of In-glessh…" Sharrkan admitted.

Eleanor pouted and crossed her arms. "Don't look at me like I'm crazy. I'm perfectly sane," she said, sitting back at the interrogation table. "I don't need to be told that I'm crazy by figments of my imagination." They gave her a confused look before looking between themselves, probably all agreeing that she had lost it, if she ever had it to begin with.

She sighed for a moment before looking back at Sinbad with a smile. "So now that we have decided that I am speaking perfectly good English, let's continue. As I was saying, I'm from planet Earth." Everyone was staring at her as if she had grown another head, or ten more.

Ignoring the stares, she continued. "There is no country called Sindria on Earth." She paused to check their reactions but they just eyed her like she was crazy. Maybe I shouldn't mention the manga. How would they react if they knew they were only characters in a story? "But there is a 'Sindria' in a… tale. I was reading this book… well it's called a 'manga.' It basically… allowed me to see your futures." She frowned, not liking to lie. At least it's half true. Her legs began to twitch. She really wanted to get back up and pace, but she wasn't sure if they would like that considering the position she was in. This was an interrogation after all. Though she supposed this was the friendliest interrogation in history. "That's how I know your names," she said, glancing at Sharrkan and Yamraiha. "I've seen you many times before in the pages of the book."

They seemed to have decided not to press the language issue again, and this time they seemed to understand her. "Ok… Let's say everything you're saying made sense… how did you get here?" Sinbad continued his questioning, though his eyes focused on Yamraiha. Eleanor noted Yamraiha shrug. He must had been asking her if it was possible. She tried not to giggle.

"I… heard a voice… I think?" She frowned as she tried to make sense of it all again. "Really I'm not crazy. I promise my sanity is perfectly intact even if I'm hearing voices. But it was really weird. I was in my house… and suddenly the floor just opened up under me and I fell… and the rest you kinda already get," she finished, gesturing to Sharrkan.

They were quiet for a while until suddenly the building shook and Sinbad stood up. He and his two generals ran outside, Eleanor following behind since they didn't bother locking the door or telling her to stay.

Outside, she saw a bright light receding, leaving behind a huge hole where the shimmering barrier surrounding Sindria seemed to liquify and dissolve. Hey, I remember this part! She thought as she noticed the black haired boy who could only be Judal. Just like in the manga… She stayed quietly behind the crowd, watching.

When the scene got to the part where Judal tried to trick Sinbad, she couldn't keep silent. "Wait! It's a trick! He isn't lying about his parents but he doesn't really care!" She covered her mouth when Judal looked up at her in anger and shock.

Suddenly he was in front of her. "You little-" he couldn't finish through his anger. He grabbed her by the throat and began to squeeze. Eleanor tried to gasp for air but she couldn't get anything. Besides the painful grip around her throat, she could also feel a burning sensation coming from her right ear. Tears formed at the corners of her eyes. This pain was too much. It wasn't right. First her lungs hurt after screaming, then the wind hurt when she fell, now this. Dreams weren't supposed to hurt. Were they?

She felt Judal's grip loosen when Sinbad said something, but she couldn't concentrate on what he said. She fell to the ground as she coughed, taking deep breaths. The burning also stopped and was replaced by a soothing sensation that spread through her body. She felt her throat with her hands.

The conversation must have finished while she was catching her breath for suddenly she was picked up. Looking, she saw the familiar chest of Sharrkan as he held her to him. She gripped his shirt out of fear. They were walking somewhere but she didn't ask where. Anywhere was better as long as it was away from Judal. She couldn't believe she had had a crush on him when she had been reading the manga. Why would her dream make him so cruel?

He eventually sat her down on something soft. Looking, she noticed it was a bed and Sinbad was standing by the door. "I…" she started but her voice was shaking. Sinbad walked over to her.

"This is a guest room." Sinbad said quietly, trying to soothe her by patting her back. "With what you said before, I'll believe you for now…" he told her but she wasn't interested in that at the moment.

"It's not a dream…" she finally said, placing her arms around herself, her nails began digging into her skin as she shivered. "It's not a dream… I almost died… What the hell is going on!?" She could feel hot tears going down her cheeks.

Everyone in the room was looking at her in confused alarm. She assumed she had spoken in a different language again. Maybe that was for the best.

The door creaked open and Yamraiha came in. Eyeing Eleanor, she left, only to come back again holding a cup. She handed it off to Sinbad, who placed it in Eleanor's hands. "Here, this should calm you down a bit."

Eleanor held it for a while, looking at her reflection. She noticed the snake earring on her right ear and ran shaking fingers over it. Was that were that burning had come from? It looked a little different from before. The snake's emerald green eyes flashed, making the creature seem more alive than metal jewelry should. She switched her gaze to her face, wiping at the tear streaks left on her cheeks.

The warmth from the cup seeped into her hands and she eventually stopped shaking. As her thoughts cleared she realized that the drink must be magical… would it knock her out? That seemed logical enough considering it came from Yamraiha… Thinking more, she realized if Judal had attacked that meant that Aladdin's group was in danger. Let's try not switching languages this time considering this is important... "Are Aladdin, Alibaba, Morgiana, and... the Prince Whatever-his-name-is at the Zagan dungeon?" She asked. They looked surprised again but Sinbad quickly came to his senses and nodded. "They are in danger," she told them. She explained about how three of Sinbad's generals went to meet up with their pupils only to find them being attacked by enemies. The group was too drained from their battle in the Dungeon to fight back. "I suggest the three generals go immediately or they will be too late in saving them." Before Sinbad could ask her any questions she downed the drink. The cup fell from her hands and she followed it. Sinbad caught the cup while Sharrkan steadied her and gently lowered her against a pillow. Standing up, they walked out of the room, leaving their new guest to sleep.

Wondering how she got there? Chapter 2 will explain it!
