Halcyon
Calm and tranquil
No more sorrows
No more hatred
Gone is the anger
Gone is the regret
All I feel is peace
Though I'm trapped
in this dark confined space
I see nothing
but darkness
Black and
nothing more
nothing less
Contrary to the usual
bright colours I see
How absurd
that serenity should
come to me
only in death.
