My own modern set Leviathan. I was inspired by Awesomegoat's "Modern Leviathan" so that was all her, not me. Although I changed a lot of stuff.

Deryn looks around, and up at the big lettering above the main doorway to the school "Westerfeld Academy" it says. She wonders again, how she managed to pull it off and get in. It is an all Boys school after all! But her grades were good, and her brother had come up with the money. He was stationed here in Massachusetts, although they were from Scotland, and was he main reason she had been able to convince her mother to let her got to Westerfeld Academy.

She realized she had stopped walking, and headed in. She pulled her schedule out and looked for what room her homeroom was in. Room 202N. Where was that? And what did N mean? 2 could mean second floor, but N? She went up to another student, who seemed to be lazily wasting time before going to classes.

"Hey, Where is this?" She asked, hoping her boy's voice would hold up.

"That's second room on the second floor in the north wing."

"Oh. That makes sense. By the way, what's your name?"

"Doesn't matter, everybody calls me Newkirk."

"Okay, bye."

He didn't see through her, it worked! Now, which way was north? Algebra II, not one of her favorite classes, but she didn't dislike math.

Would Newkirk become one of her friends? Would she even be able to have friends? She was the only girl, after all. Not that they knew that, but would she let herself have any friends, they would have a better chance of finding out and exposing her secret. "Maybe not" She thought. She finally found her way to her homeroom, and found herself a desk around the middle of the classroom. Apparently, she was not the only one having trouble finding her way to the classroom, there was only a handful of people. The teacher was not in the handful.

She snapped out of her thoughts when a spitball hit her in the back of the head. She turns around to see three guys in the back of the room, laughing at her. Gang up on the new kid, she thought.

"Blisters, What's wrong with you?" She yells at them.

They start laughing so hard, the one holding the straw actually fell out of his seat. She then realized she'd let her voice go up when she yelled at them. This would be harder than she thought.

A few more students pile in and sit down before the teacher gets in, sits himself down on a chair, and takes attendance, although it's obvious not everybody has gotten there yet.

She listens through the speech, about which text book they would use, his style of teaching, and whatever else. The bell for second period sounded, and she once again looked to see where she was going. Wood and metal shop.

Ugghhh, she thought, not a class she wanted to have to take. She went over to the main office on her way there. Gosh, it had it's own building! But so did her favorite subject, Biology. She found out that shop is mandatory for sophomores, and she couldn't opt out. "Maybe the teacher will be good" she muttered to herself.

It's okay, is what I thought. I thought this didn't really flow, but content is fine. Questions? Review!
