This is a little one-shot I thought of, originally it was going to be for the LJ Dramione Drabbles 100 word challenge, but I didn't want to work with a 100 word limit. The theme supposed to be VERITASERUM, but it kind of drifted away from that. Whatever. I still really like this and I hope you do to. Let me know your thoughts, so REVIEW PLEASE. Honestly reviews make my life. enjoy.
Draco didn't fight against the Death Eaters restraining him anymore. He just watched in somber silence while the Veritaserum was dripped into his wife's mouth. Her lips were pressed into a defiant line, refusing to be intimidated by her prosecutors.
It was Yaxley who questioned her, but on direct orders from the Dark Lord himself. While they could have charged for any number of crimes: being a muggleborn, known member of the Order of the Phoenix or the murder of Death Eaters, they chose to charge her for this, just to punish him.
"State your name for the record." Yaxley ordered. When she didn't respond he whipped out his wand. "Crucio!" Her mouth opened but she didn't scream. Draco knew it would be futile to break away from his guards and murder Yaxley. Then they would still kill her and then kill him too.
"Hermione Jean Granger!" She yelled through the pain and he removed the curse.
"Good girl. I have only one question for you." He circled slowly.
"Have you had or are you currently having romantic affiliations with a pureblood, specifically Draco Malfoy?" A few people around the room snickered, probably at Draco.
"Yes, we're married." Hermione announced with a triumphant smile.
"Under the Pureblood/Muggleborn Anti-Affiliation Law you are herby condemned to the Dementor's Kiss." Yaxley announced and he signaled for the Dementors to enter. As the room chilled Draco's restraint broke.
"No! Punish me, I'm her husband!" He cried and Yaxley turned to him with a smile on his face.
"It's not illegal for you to marry her, just for her to marry you."
"Then have the Dementors kiss me anyways." Draco requested.
"It would be such a waste, the world needs more Purebloods. Next time, choose your wife more carefully."
Draco buried his face in his hands while the two masked men carried him away. He wished his lips would be the last thing to touch hers, not this soulless creature. He wished his hands would be the last thing to touch her body, not the cold chains that held her now. But his words could be the last thing to reach her ears.
"I love you." He said loud enough for her to hear, and he saw the corners of her mouth turn up into a smile just as the Dementor delivered it's kiss.
