(2) Trial

They've had to go through many trials to get Charlie's brother away from the militia. Losing people that they loved and cared about along the way. Maggie's death was the hardest for Charlie she had grown up with this lady's guiding hand throughout her childhood, then thinking Aaron was dead, but really he was playing possum, and almost losing Nora twice, once to sickness and the other to her sister.

Other trials included being kidnapped by lunatics, being shot at by the militia and in Charlies case being branded. A hard thing for Miles to do was kill his former best friend, it had to be done Sebastian was getting to power hungry and going crazy with everything happening and he was already crazy to begin with. But when Bass had kidnapped Charlie and was about to rape her, Miles had enough it was time to end his best friend, so he put a bullet in his brain and they left the militia to fall apart.

But if you was to ask both of them what the hardest thing was, they would both confess that it was the night they confessed to loving each other more than uncle and niece. Not only where the feelings confusing but they both thought it was wrong. Why would they love each other with that kind of passion they were family. Miles grew up with those laws so he knew it more than Charlie would ever know how wrong it was. But in the end feelings and the heart won, they were both consenting adults and if that's how they felt towards each other than it wasn't anyone's damn business to use Miles words.

Their family fought it at first. Rachel forbid Charlie to have anything to do with Miles but Charlie let her have it down the road about her not being there to make any decisions for her when she was growing up she sure as hell wasn't going to be making them now. After that she backed off and disappeared in the night, a few weeks later we found out she was the new leader of the militia. Danny thought it was weird at first but came around in the end as long as his sister was happy so was he. He just didn't call Miles uncle anymore to keep the weirdness away.

Friends couldn't accept it Aaron and Nora left. Both for different reasons though. Aaron just couldn't watch Charlie make this mistake even if it did make her happy, and Nora left because even though she thought she was over Miles it hurt seeing him with Charlie like they used to be but with him actually making it work. So in the end Miles, Charlie, and Danny settled down in a small town. The town's people because of the shared last name and the somewhat family resemblance between Miles and Danny thought they were father and son, and that Charlie and Miles were newly married with the way they acted and to keep the suspicion away they let the town think it. And me I'm always watching I thought I loved Charlie especially enough to betray my father and the militia but seeing her with Miles I knew I could never make her that happy so the old saying "If you love someone you gotta let them go" became my trial.
