Benval is a plane within the Multiverse that has seen is own share of death and destruction. Centuries before the sealing of the Eldrazi, this plane saw a war unlike any other it would see again. Two Planeswalkers fought to the death in a monstrous war that saw the death of many. Vampire Planeswalker Sorin Markov fought and killed a Troll Planeswalker by the name of Gal ven Dal, a Planeswalker born on a plane long forgotten, who had sought to rule this young plane as his own.
A legend was born from it, painting Sorin as a liberator, and Gal ven Dal as a tyrant.
Benval is plane inhabited by three races. Elves, Demons and Angels are the only sentient beings that inhabit this world.
The Angels usually live high in the mountains or in scorching deserts. They fall within the colors of White, Blue and Red.
The Demons inhabit foul places such as swamps, caves, and volcanic hot spots. They fall within the colors of Black, Blue and Red.
Elves usually live in forests, but aren't above living in deserts or swamps. Some have even found homes on far off islands. They fall within the colors Green, Black and White.
Also inhabiting this plane are Angel that have formed contracts with Demons. These beings tend to be insane and bloodthirsty. They are called Fallen, and usually live in volcanic areas. They fall within the colors of Black, White and Red.
Angels on this plane can live thousands of years with ease. As such, their culture is rich, but rarely changes. They also hold a belief that they should rule the world.
Demons on this plane are made, not born. They came to be when Gal ven Dal enslaved a race of human-esce beings. His dark magics altered them very heavily. Demons treat his memory with disdain, considering they knew him the best. As such, they they do not give birth, but rather, form pacts with other beings, or simply make Demons with magic.
Elves, the only mortal race in this world, live roughly two hundred years. They tend to not trust either Demons or Angels, considering Demons will tick them into contracts, and angels have been known to hunt elves for sport.
Planeswalkers rarely visit this plane considering the never ending war and the scarce mana.
A few though have visited this plane in recent years. And one has even made this his home.
Now, Sorin must return to save the races from certain death when an Elvin Planeswalker comes to this plane with an intent to become a god.
