Wrote this what feels like ages ago for Asa (Adreus? What do you go by on here? I forgot... whoops!)
Kaito was sick.
He'd gotten the cold from Haruto, who had decided that going out in the snow without proper gear — "Kaito, it's not even that cold, I don't need any of that!" Haruto said, gesturing to the snow pants, knit scarf, thick gloves, and a gigantic parka that Kaito was holding out to him — was a good idea, and a week later, it had passed on to Kaito. Oh joy, oh rapture, oh— he broke into a coughing fit that effectively destroyed that last thought.
"I brought you more blankets!" Haruto said cheerfully as he trudged into the living room with a pile he could barely see over held tightly in his arms. He unceremoniously dumped them onto his brother who was laying on the couch with a fever that had appeared out of nowhere that morning. Haruto, who had picked up some nursing tips from Yuma (who had learned from his sister), stuck a thermometer in the blonde's mouth as he opened it to protest to the extra heat padding, cutting him off.
"You're staying home until you get better!"
"And what about going to school? You know I'm the one who has to drop you off," Kaito grumbled, the thermometer bouncing around as his lips moved before Haruto squished them together.
"Don't talk!" he said, attempting to be stern. "It'll mess up the temperature thingy!"
"Thermometer," Kaito mumbled as he settled into the pillow fort that Haruto built behind his head. This was really ridiculous… what kind of nurse was Yuma? And what the hell did Akari teach him anyway?
Whatever…
The doorbell rang as the thermometer beeped and Haruto jumped as he went to take it out, knocking it around Kaito's teeth before snatching it out and running for the door.
"I'll get it!"
Of course you will, I'm stuck on this damn couch…
"Hey Haruto! Is Kaito— WHOA is that his temperature? Good thing I came over!"
Oh for fucks sake…
"Kaito! Nurse Yuma reporting for duty!" Yuma came rushing into the room, a first aid kit clutched in one hand and the other coming to a salute at his forehead, beaded with melted snow because he no doubt ran all the way here (the nutter).
"You're insane," Kaito murmured from under the blankets that he tugged slowly over his face, too focused on Yuma seeing him — the cool guy, the guy who was older and respectable and stand-offish and mysterious — in bed with a red-raw nose and mussed hair and a clogged-up nose that made his voice stumble over words… ugh, this week was just getting worse.
Hope you enjoyed this! Review if you wish :)
