Bun Bun

Bun was a cutie. And he had soft spots for cuties. And Buns.

But that was his own fault. He'd named the little digimon Bun after all. He'd accepted the Dock, and made the digimon inside his friend. Not that he minded doing any of that. Bun…this Bun…had just reached out to him in that way.

He didn't think there'd be another like the original Bun again. But here was one. Someone with a fire unlike anything he'd ever seen with anyone else. A fire fitting of the name Bun.

He wasn't strong. He wasn't the fighter Makoto was hoping he would be. But Kentarou didn't need him to be that sort of fighter. Fighting wasn't what he did. And it wasn't what Bun did either. There was another way to stand up to bullies.

And that was courage. Courage…and love. The sort of love Bun, the original Bun, had felt for him – enough to sacrifice his own life to save him from that fire.

He loved that Bun. And he would come to love this Bun as well: the Bun with the same sort of heart and fire in his soul and same little half-starved but still cute body he'd carried out of a dumpster one day.

And it was pretty poetic how he'd found both Buns in dumpsters too.
