It had been countless ages since Natsu had seen his childhood love, Lisanna, the short haired sister of Mirajane and Elfman. Now she was back seemingly from the dead, and had her best friend Natsu by her side. She had greeted him with a massive tackle of a hug, because out of all of Fairy Tail, even her brother and sister, she missed Natsu Dragneel the most. The hotheaded Dragonslayer of flame had a very soft spot, and only Lisanna had the blessing of seeing this. The two had built a small shelter in the nearby woods of Magnolia, where Natsu and Lissana were always found together when not at the little shelter was their mansion, where they raised the Exceed known to the guild as Happy. Lissana had only been able to see Happy a few times before she was lost during a mission in which she was flung deep into unknown forests.
That was all the past now, as she and Natsu walked down that worn path they treaded down as small children, through the deep Magnolian woods. "Natsu," Lisanna started, "Where are we going?" Almost with a semi-shocked look on his face, he replied, "Somewhere that you and I know very well, Lis." Her deep blue eyes widened as he said that, knowing exactly where he was leading her; the place they thought of as home as children, the small shelter in the clearing, right by the cliff which they always would imagine one day a vast waterfall would cascade. The two made it back to the small hut they used to call home, and Lissana was immediately brought to her knees, and tears formed in her eyes as she saw her childhood refuge almost as if she had left it yesterday, and completely lost the last amount of control when she saw the grave Natsu had made for Lisanna in front of the hut with the marker reading, "For Lisanna, the girl who means the world to me".
"Natsu... you kept this place up while I was gone, and you put my grave there so I could always see the sunset which I so adored... Thank you, Natsu..." she had managed to say though her tears. " I did this all in hopes for this day Lis." He wrapped his arms around her, and she rested her head on his chest, which was just soft enough to be to her perfect comfort, as the tears streamed down her face. Natsu had pulled back from her, only to look into her eyes for a moment as her tears subsided, and placed a kiss on his long lost love's. "I came here all the time in hopes of finding you here one day." Silently, Lisanna kissed Natsu back on the lips with closed eyes, and to her surprise, he kissed back with a soft passion as she felt him warm up with flames, these ones not like his usual fire, these one comforting as they embraced each each other in the warm glimmer of the fading sunlight.
"I love you, Natsu. I always have." Lisanna uttered in a love-filled trance. "I love you too, Lis." He replied, both smiling having hear the remarks of the other fill their hearts with warmth. Natsu took Lisanna's hand in his own, and sat on the cliff that overlooked the vast depths of the outlying forests. Lis rested her head on his shoulder, taking in the sunset with her best friend, who was now her boyfriend. With his other hand, he reached out and made a small heart, made of his own flames. "You're so amazing, Natsu... Thank you for always having faith in your friends, even me. The sunset looks so much better with you by my side." She kissed him on the cheek, as the two stared into the orange-red shade of fading sunlight that enveloped the forest before them.
