"Peace in our time."
There's a name for that – for that elusive state where all is peaceful and well. There always has been, and there always will be. Some are content to leave the fantasy in the afterlife, but others insist that it is possible in our own lifetimes. Others are willing to fight and to kill to bring about peace.
And yet, could they see? Did they realise that there would – that there could – be no such state? They wished to fight to bring it about – to enforce it to make it stay – but peace and harmony built upon force would never stay; another force would rise to bring it to an end. Man could not create peace where there was only havoc, and stillness where there was chaos. Did they disillusion themselves so well that they believed that only a few people or object stood in the way of the dream? Did they assume that these 'few' obstacles would be easily removed?
All of nature is in a state of movement – of chaos. It shakes and breaks and collides and lives and dies at almost seeming random. There are exceptions to every rule and even the most perfect system can be broken – can be surpassed.
And yes, without the chaos and destruction and death, there would be no life. Without dynamics and problems, life would be stagnant and dull. Life exists to fight and to grow – to make mistakes and to learn. When someone takes the barriers and obstacles away from another, life's instinct is to search for them. If someone took away all the 'fight' and replaced it with perfect peace, it would be false and only temporary. It would be a state that would be doomed from the start – something others would fight against naturally.
"Imagine that."
I am – it's all I can do.
