A/N: Hi, all! I decided to give something a try. This is set just after Emma and her family leave the Underworld and leave Hook behind. Let me know what you think!
Killian knew that he had done the right thing by sending Emma along. He watched the elevator rise without him, and when her hand slipped out of his, his heart broke for the last time. Even though Killian had half of Emma's heart, he felt like she couldn't be further away.
What would he do now? He'd promised her that he would try move on. That he wouldn't stay trapped there forever. But not knowing if she was safe or not, knowing that Hades went with them, made him feel like he had unfinished business in the Underworld too, and not just the real world.
He sat in the hot, muggy dungeon and contemplated his next move. He wanted to move on, he knew that would make Emma happy, and then she could move on and she wouldn't spend her life trying to get back to him. All that Killian wanted at this point was to see her happy and healthy and safe.
"You..." An unfamiliar voice came from across the damp room. "Cruella would like to see you."
Killian had never seen the person who had just stepped into the dim, orange light, but he knew who Cruella was. She had taken Hades role in the Underworld in the last weeks and now she wanted to see him. He was confused. She wasn't very fond of him, since Emma was the reason Cruella was here in the first place.
"Tell her that I don't wish to see her." Killian mumbled as he got up off the warm, hard floor. As he wiped the sweat from his brow, he decided that he would see what it was that she wanted.
Killian looked around the tremendous room with the throne. The last time he was in this room he was being tortured by Hades himself. Cruella perched upon the chair Hades once sat.
"What do you want?" Killian wanted to get to the point and go back to being alone.
"Captain Hook..." Cruella strutted around Killian and grazed a finger over his shoulders. She smiled a crooked smile and stopped with her face inches from his.
"What... do you want?" Killian asked again with anger in his tone.
"My dear, we both want the same thing." She chuckled. "To get out of this wretched place. And I want your help."
"How could I possibly help you? And why would I? Emma is moving on and I will too."
"Oh, dear Hook, don't accept that fate. You're right, darling. Emma is moving on." As Cuella shifted back into the throne and crossed her legs at the knee, a mirage-like bubble popped up from the middle of the room. It was showing a vision of Emma and a male figure that Killian couldn't place. They were sitting at a table at Granny's together sipping coffee. The hardest part for Killian to see is Emma was not only smiling, but laughing. As Killian stared in dissatisfaction, Cruella smiled again.
"You see, darling? Wouldn't you rather be that person there with her at Granny's, having a normal cup of tea, and laughing about old times?"
Killian paused. "We both know that's not going to happen!" His rage came out in volume.
"But it can, I just need to know that you will help when need be."
Killian turned and faced the back of the room, looked at the floor, and contemplated. What could she possibly ask me to do that's worse than the things I've already done? "Fine." He sulked. "Call me when you have an actual task at hand. Until then..." He trailed off.
"I'll leave you be." She turned away.
