E/O Challenge: Use 'remote' twice in one drabble

Word Count: 100

Warnings/Spoilers: Season 7, Bobby's demise

Summary: The Winchester boys experience a deep, intolerable grief when they loose their mentor and friend.

So far away...doesn't anybody stay in one place any more?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door;
Doesn't help to know you're just time away;
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood;
Holding you again could only do me good;
How I wish I could, but you're so far away...

-Carole King

So Far Away

The cabin stood alone, remote in the dark woods. Two young men sat inside, eyes open, looking but not seeing. They barely ate, or moved, or spoke. The winced at the numbing, wrenching pain in their guts. The sun rose and set, the wind howled, the nights turned colder.

But things began to happen. Sam noticed a page turned. Dean's beer bottle was empty. Neither one would admit what they were thinking – was there the remote possibility that it could be...

Bobby?

Sam and Dean would not say his name. They knew it hurt too much to even hope.
