Becoming Much More
(This is my first Tailosmo production. It's based on many stories about Cosmo returning and what could happen afterwards. This one I wrote thinking about what Tails would be feeling.)
Tails sat alone, very confused. He was very unsure of what to do. Cosmo had finally come back, after such a while that she was gone. But Tails didn't know what to do. He felt really happy that Cosmo was back, but inside his feelings were confusing him.
"I can't figure any of this out. I feel so happy that Cosmo's here again, but I also feel worried about what would happen if I choose to be with her. So much could happen. How am I supposed to know what to do?" Tails asked, to himself more than anything.
He had really missed Cosmo while she was gone. In fact, he was devastated. She was such a true friend to him, and even his first true love. He thought it was impossible for him to have love, considering how young he was, but when he was with Cosmo, those thoughts seemed to vanish and what mattered was being with her.
Now that she was here, he could finally really be with her, but that thought scared him somehow. He didn't know what could happen, and that's what worried Tails about being with Cosmo.
"Tails, is that you?" Someone behind Tails asked. He turned around to see that it was Cosmo. He wasn't expecting her to come. "Hey, Cosmo." Tails said. Then he turned back around again. Cosmo sat down next to Tails. "You seem really upset. Is something wrong?" Cosmo asked, concerned. Tails looked at her. He felt worried about saying this, but maybe Cosmo might be able to help him, so Tails looked over at her.
"Cosmo, I'm worried about something." Tails said. "What is it?" Cosmo asked. "I'm worried about what might happen if I choose to be with you. Something could happen to you, and I wouldn't be there to help you. The thought of being with someone worries me about what might happen, so I don't know what to do." Tails explained. Cosmo was surprised by this, but she could understand why that was the case. They were still young; who knows what could happen? But, it was really wonderful being with someone special.
"Tails, being with someone you really care for isn't something to be worried about." Cosmo said. "What do you mean?" Tails asked, looking up at her. "It's really such a wonderful feeling, to know that you can both share your love. You can do things that you both really enjoy, and you can just spend time being with each other. You also feel happy, knowing that you can have a future together and you just enjoy whatever time you have together. Tails, I understand that you're worried, but you shouldn't let that get in the way. You should be able to just make the most of that time, because every moment is valuable." Cosmo explained.
Tails had a moment to himself to think about it. Cosmo was right; he shouldn't let his worries get in the way. Being able to be Cosmo now actually seemed more like a wonderful thing, and he knew that. But he needed to hear that to really understand it.
"Cosmo, you're right. My worries shouldn't be my main focus, the time I spend with you should be. I have a chance to be with you, and I should make the most of it. I'll do the best I can to make every moment we spend together special. I'll make you happy, Cosmo, because it makes me happy as well." Tails smiled.
"Tails, that's exactly what I wanted to hear you say." Cosmo smiled. Tails really felt happy; there was never a more thrilling experience than being able to be with the one he loved: Cosmo.
