Five times that Walter de Courcy got laid
I.
He had been there long before Anatoly. Working for Global Television had its benefits, and one of them was Florence Vassy. The fights that raged between her and Freddie had started long before the World Chess Championship, and someone had to pick up the pieces. So when Freddie stormed off one day, after negotiations hadn't quite gone the way that he would have liked. Walter made his move, and while Freddie was sulking like the child he was at his apartment, Walter was finding out just how "gentle" his second could be.
II.
He wouldn't have done this to himself, however Global needed to be able to film the matches, and the only way that permission was going to be granted for that was if he made a few compromises. One being that sex was not out of the question when it came to the Arbiter. He hadn't just been saying he didn't like women to deter any attempt at coercion. As he left the hotel the next morning he considered asking his supervisors for a considerable raise.
III.
The third time had been a complete surprise, but Walter wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to have information that could be blackmail should he need it. When Freddie had stumbled into him at the bar, more than a little drunk due to the fact that he had lost his title, Walter felt that he should at least make sure the man got to his room that night. He didn't expect the strength Freddie managed to exert as he pulled him into the bed with him. Nor was he entirely ready for the kiss that followed, but Walter wasn't about to lose this chance, who knew when it could help him later.
IV.
On good thing about working with the Russians was the fact that he had access to Svetlana. When he had first seen her on the video sent over Molokvo, there was no denying that she was attractive. The "lovely Svetlana" proved to be even more attractive in person. Perhaps it was the threats from Molokov, or seeing her husband with another woman, despite what she might say, that made her give in so easily to having him spend the night. When he walked out of the room the next morning, he didn't notice Anatoly at the other end of the hall, watching.

Molokov was just as forceful in bed as he was out of it, that added with the fact that the Russian champion had just lost, made for a rather intense "meeting." At the end of it Molokov was back to business, or whatever a KGB office had to do at a chess match. However, Walter did notice the smirk that Molokov gave him, as the press swarmed around him with the news of Anatoly's second defection.
