I know it's really short but the idea very suddenly popped into my head while I was randomly listening to the song, I literally stopped what I was doing just to write it!

Anyway enjoy!

"Don't be too long," The worried blonde said with concern as he watched her ascend the stairs like she did on this day every year.

"I'll be fine..." She replied not looking back at him.

Remember those days...

It was just after high school in summer, I remember we were so in love.

We used to make out in the back of your car listening to our song, do you remember? When i turned 18... Remember how we got those matching tattoos on our necks...

I can still remember when we snuck up onto your roof and drank a six pack of beer that you'd been able to get with a fake I.D...

We used to talk about our futures... like we really had a clue, thinking back now i can't help but smile at how naive we were...

Never thought I'd ever lose you.

Maybe in another life I'd still be your girl, I would make you stay... It wouldn't have turned out the way it has...

I wish it was still us against the world... if only I had made you stay. I still feel heartbroken thinking... about it...

We were inseparable, people used to joke that we were joined at the hip since we were never one without the other, I used to tell you we were just like the fourth Hokage and his wife, I know for certain I had made a pact to stay with you always, that I'd always have your back and I'm sure you thought it too.

Sometimes when I miss you I find myself staring up at the forth Hokage's face in the mountains in a daze.

One day my mentor caught me in my daze and told me "it's time to snap out of it, reflect and learn from this, it's time to face the music."

In a different life I would be your girl, I could be the one to make you stay, so I don't have to say you're the one that got away.

I know we'd be able to keep all our promises, if only I had made you stay...

All this strength can't bring you back to me now, all this knowledge means nothing for you now,

I should have told you exactly what you meant to me, I tried and I know I failed... you left and I wish you hadn't, you'd still be here if I hadn't let you leave that day...

Maybe in another life I was able to make you stay... I wonder what kind of life we had... I still want to be your girl... in my heart I still am your girl...

But this isn't another life, this is the life I'm living in and I am standing at this cliff edge which was once turned into a battlefield... this is the last place I saw you before... before you died...

The aged pink-haired lady stood on top of the mountain deep in thought, while down below villagers and shinobi alike all celebrated in honour of the day the sixth Hokage defeated the greatest enemy the village had ever seen...

Slowly and silently a tear rolled down her cheek as she listened to the faint music she could hear coming from the festival...

I haven't written or updated in a while and like i said i just got the urge to write this... I'd really like to know if I should maybe make it longer... not sure how... maybe someone could give me a few pointers?
