A/N: I own nothing *sniffles*
Charlie Swan sat in the brand new rocking chair, swaying back and forth as he held his newborn baby girl in his arms. She was so tiny and precious. He was going to protect her from everything and everyone in the world. He had the 'daddy power'.
Stars shining bright above you, night breezes seem to whisper, "I love you".
Birds singing in the sycamore tree, "Dream a little dream of me".
Say "nighty-night" and kiss me. Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone and blue as can be, dream a little dream of me.
Bella was six when she got a hairline fracture on her light wrist. She couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in and would wake up every three hours to change positions. Charlie sat on the rocking chair his dad had made for the baby and looked at her all night long. She was with Renee when she got hurt, but now he would make sure she would be okay.
Stars fading, but I linger on, dear.
Still craving your kiss, I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear.
Just saying this: Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you.
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me.
Eighteen year old Bella tossed and turned in her bed haunted by yet another nightmare. She had them every night for a while now and would wake up screaming, chased by memories. Every night, Charlie was there to hug her and chase the memories away, holding his daughter until she calmed down enough to fall back asleep. He protected her from everything, but not from a broken heart.
He was clad in an expensive grey suit, swaying with his little girl. Only she wasn't little anymore. nineteen year old bella was dressed in a long wedding dress, smiling bright enough to light up the sky. He was holding her close.
"I'm happy now Dad"
It didn't matter what her last name, address or species she might be. He would always look out for her. Always.
Dream a little dream of me.
