Author notes at the end of the chapter.
I do not own Pokémon.

"Sweetie, wake up, we have arrived!"

A soft and tender voice interrupted her dream, still feeling tired because the overwhelming number of trips through land and sea. Slowly opening her eyes, and looking through the window to see multiple tall trees and some buildings. A rural town, similar to Celestic town, ignoring the great amount of green in the environment.

Her gaze shifted inside the car as her grandfather opened the door to move the luggage out of the car, meanwhile her grandmother took her little sister, who was in a deep sleep, inside the house they leased.

The blonde girl followed them, taking a moment to admire such landscape, and the most important of all, to see the local fauna, wondering which kind of Pokémon she would find in Kanto.

'What do you think my dear?' — The old man asked to his granddaughter — 'It shares many attributes of my beloved Celestic Town. Far away from the big cities and pollution, your grandmother was correct to choose this place to spend our holidays'

'I am sure grandma is always right' — She replied with a smirk — 'Pallet town has caught my attention. Despite how small it appears, it looks much better than the big cities we have been before'

'It will take us some time to move our belongings inside the house. Why don't you explore the town while we prepare everything? I would say your sister to accompany you, but she still does not wake up'

The blonde replied with a simple nod, waving her hand to her grandparent before departing to explore the town.

Her hands hung behind her back, fingers interlacing between them while Cynthia explored Pallet Town. In the center of the town, there were many stalls offering fruits, candies and a great variety of objects. Looking further, she noticed a small restaurant serving Ice Cream for their clients. This made her eyes shine, nevertheless, she didn't have money to purchase one.

After wandering aimlessly through the village, she stopped at a building far bigger than the others, opaquely colored compared to the houses. In the entrance, there was a shiny plate of bronze, written with the following engraving.

Laboratory of Professor Oak and Assistants
Specialists in Pokémon research

Never thought to find a laboratory of a scientist in this isolated town, and none other than the very Professor Oak, pioneer in Pokémon research. She heard tales about him, how his discovery helped in the research and identification of Pokémon. Walking around to see the scientist work, she only found windows to be obstructed by grey objects and those who weren't, she found that no one was working. What a disappointment, she thought.

Following the road, her gray eyes looked at a boy with bright brown hair, or more like it, almost orange, leaving his house and riding a bike with fervor. Moving closer, she noticed another plate with an engraving.

Residence of the Oak family

The boy who left must be a relative of the professor, Cynthia thought, now looking at the house of the Oak family. Judging by his age, the boy had to be the grandson of the researcher, or not at all. After all, it could be a trainer who had the chance to meet him. Whatever the answer was, it was not of great importance. With the end of the road leading to the forest, Cynthia turned back, following the same way as before.

It took a few minutes to return to her house. The car was parked next to the house and her family had to be inside. Her hand laid on the handle, and with little strength, the door laid open. Cynthia walked inside, her gray eyes wandering over the walls and furniture, thinking it wasn't so different from home. A room divided into two sections. One of them had two sofas with a coffee table, a vase and a TV in the background. On the other side of the house, the kitchen could be found next to a table covered with a tablecloth, surrounded by five chairs. At last, the stairs who lead to the second floor.

Before she could reach the next floor, Cynthia heard someone descending. It was her grandmother.

'Oh Cynthia! My husband told you went for a walk' — The grandmother said with a sweet voice — 'Tell me, how is the neighborhood'

'It exceeded my expectations to be honest. For its size, the town has a lot to offer, many stands with a variety of products for us and Pokémon, cheerful people... and I may have seen a restaurant. We could probably go there later"

Cynthia said with a smile. It was the same place who served ice creams to their clients, and with enough persuasion, she could manage to bring them there and get her desired dessert.

Her grandmother rubbed her chin before to answer — 'Perhaps. I will say tell it to my husband... in the meantime, your equipment awaits in your bedroom. If you get your room prepared and tidy, then the chances of eating there may increase'

Her smile softly faded away, how she hated to have everything in order, nevertheless, Cynthia had no other choice. Anything to achieve that ice cream.

Going upstairs quickly, she went to her room. A bed against the wall, with a near pedestal table; a drawer with nothing over it and a closet in front of the bed. Plenty of space to put all of her clothes, books and more.

Taking her backpack from the bed and placing it over the drawer, she opened it and took the objects inside of it. A black notebook, some pencils, a book that its cover said "The wonders of Pokémon" and finally two Pokeballs, which contained two of her friends from Sinnoh. One given by her parents, the other, from professor Rowan.

The girl took them with both hands, placing the metallic balls softly over the comfy bed, thinking in what they could do in this summer together. Probably battle other trainers, fight the wild Pokémon roaming around, explore and many more options. She had little time to train when school was a priority, however, she wanted to become someone relevant in the Pokémon world with their friends. A researcher like the professor Oak or Rowan, a known Pokémon master, or even higher, a Champion of the Sinnoh Region.

A soft sigh abandoned her lips. It wasn't the moment to dream about the future.

Half an hour was needed to put everything in its corresponding place. The main door was open, and Cynthia quickly rushed to the stairs and descended to the first floor. Her stormy eyes encountered her grandparents and her beloved little sister. The blonde girl simply smiled, waiting for them to talk.

'Your grandmother told me about a certain place you found. A nice restaurant a few meters away, it looks a nice place to order something' — The man said crossing his arms — 'Nevertheless, I took a moment to see their prices, and it's quite expensive...'

This brought the demise of Cynthia's happiness, as well to her sister. It seemed that they had the same intentions on mind, she quickly thought for an idea to convince them, but before she could speak, the old man continued — 'However, after a long trip, I doubt one of us has the will to cook something'

He finished his sentence with a chuckle, a chuckle because of the reaction on both nieces. Cynthia just giggled softly while the little one hugged the leg of his.

'Let's go'

Two hours have passed since Cynthia ate with her family, now wandering through the forest with her notebook and two Poke balls, looking around to see any Pokémon. So far, her eyes have witnessed small brown birds and purple rodents, probably smaller than the Starly and Bidoof on Sinnoh. After not finding anything interesting, she took seat beneath the shadow of a tree and placing the notebook over her legs. Next, she took a pencil and began drawing the landscape surrounding her.

The pencil dancing over the white paper, tracing the landscape full of life. Cynthia was doing a sketch of the tree a few meters in front of her. Branches, leaves, some Pidgey taking a nap. A rough sketch indeed, but she was happy with the result so far.

A small pause, dropping the pencil over the healthy and greenish grass, thinking if she should release her friends. They had to be exhausted inside the capsules for a long period of time. Taking one Poke ball with her left hand and her middle finger grasping the button to release the creature inside.

Before she could press the button, a thunderous noise broke the silence. It managed to surprise her and the avian Pokémon, who went flying in fear to the sky and rodents to scatter around the tall grass. Cynthia took all of her belongings, trying to find the explanation of the noise. It had the resemblance of a thunder striking the ground, probably an electric Pokémon fighting with another, a fight between wild Pokémon, or even better, two trainers in a match.

Moving deep into the bushes to seek the Pokémon, her free hand pushing away the obstacles in her way. The voice of two grown males could be heard as she moved deeper, however, instead of a battle, their voices were quite annoyed, hurried and suspicious. Cynthia frowned at this, doubting that it was a battle, and more of dishonest and dark actions.

She finally reached the source of that sound. Two male adults, dressed in complete black with the exception of their boots and gloves. One of them was holding something like a black club, meanwhile the other a Poke ball on his left hand. Her sight moved downwards, and she softly gasped. A yellow Pokémon, caught in a red and struggling to get out. These were no trainers, but low life thugs.

Moving backwards, she stepped on a branch, fear rising and cold sweat over her body as the sight of one of them turned against her.

'Oi, little brat! What da hell are ya doin' here?'

The man with the bat said loudly, his demeanor changed into an annoyed and furious one. By instinct, Cynthia took one of the capsules hanging behind her, prepared to release the Pokémon if the thug moved closer. Not making any sound, the thug moved closer, his anger increasing.

'I asked you a question, what are ya doin' here!?'

Their distance shortened, the precise moment to surprise him. One Poke Ball went flying through the air and landing over the ground, a blue light blinded the criminal, forcing to cover his eyes with his arms.

The next few seconds, he felt a crushing blow against his side. A rough and strong blow that knocked him down, coughing and doing an effort to recover his breath. The other grunt stared in awe at the Pokémon, who knocked his partner. A Pokémon never seen before, with dark blue scales and crimson belly; golden and ferocious eyes; long claws and fangs, which brought a chill through his spine. In an act of defense, he took a Poke ball from his waist.

'You little bitch!' — The other one said in terror, throwing the Poke ball on the ground — ' Do ya know who ya messin' with?'

The blue light revealed the Pokémon of the delinquent. A purple serpent, with yellow eyes. In the eyes of Cynthia, the serpentine creature wasn't intimidating like her Gabite.

With her previous fear fading away, she commanded the draconic Pokémon to attack. Quickly, Gabite used his claws to hurt the Ekans. The other Pokémon, caught in surprise, received the full attack, rolling and growling in pain.

'What!?' — He exclaimed in awe, the speed of the other Pokémon was something never seen before. Shaking his head and focusing on the battle, he ordered the Ekans to attack — 'Use acid!'

Obeying the order, the Pokémon expelled a grotesque purple liquid. The Gabite used his appendages to protect himself from the poison. The rough scales covered in dirt proved to be an excellent defense against the toxin.

'You are weak' — Cynthia said, now full of confidence — 'A master with no resolve, who has to draw on cheap tricks and numbers, who uses Pokémon as an instrument. You are the scum of this world'

The words infuriated the delinquent, his eyes with a spark of rage. Being overpowered by an adolescent was humiliating for him and the Team Rocket — 'Bite that bastard!'

The draconic creature remained in the defensive stance, waiting for the serpent to attack. The fangs dug into his skin, but not deeply enough to cause any noticeable damage. In fact, it seemed that Ekans got hurt by the move rather than damaging the dragon.

'Is over' — Cynthia said, crossing her arms — 'Finish it'

With a thunderous roar, the dragon slammed the Ekans against the ground. The Pokémon couldn't resist against such strength, fainting in the process. The grunt recalled his Pokémon, but before he could escape, the Gabite charged against him, knocking him down with his head. Cynthia was against the idea to hurt other people with Pokémon, but these didn't deserve any consideration. Now that the conflict was solved, all that was left was to release the Pokémon, and call the police.

Gabite used his claw to cut the rope, the Pikachu was in a state of shock. It had some bruises, probably they used the clubs to hit him. Cynthia knelt, with a tender smile and offering her hand to the scared Pokémon — 'Come on little one, you don't have to fear me'

She doubted a wild Pokémon would listen to her, however, a wild Pokémon would've run the moment Gabite cut the thick ropes. Its trainer could be close from their position.

At the moment she thought about its trainer, she heard a voice not so far, the voice of a male child. Coming from the bushes, a boy dressed in a red jacket and blue jeans; his raven hair was covered with a red and white cap. His face showed worry, his eyes looking around until he saw his Pokémon, a smile grew on his face. The yellow creature went quickly to the arms of the boy.

His eyes turned to the other two, a Pokémon never seen before and a blonde woman who stood in order to greet him. Before she could speak, the younger trainer spoke first.

'Did you save Pikachu from them? Thank you very much!' — He said doing a small bow — 'We got caught by surprise in the forest by them. I don't know what to give you...'

'Do not worry, it was the responsibility of anyone who loves Pokémon to save your Pikachu' — Cynthia said with a giggle, her gray eyes noticing a wound on his cheek. Her fingers softly caressed his left cheek, taking a look how dangerous the bleeding could be — 'You need to patch it before you catch an infection'

The trained blushed softly, a cute reaction for Cynthia. He took a step back and said — 'I was going to Pallet town to visit mom, but I don't want her to see Pikachu in this state, otherwise, my adventure ends today'

'There is something I can do for you?' — She asked, playing with a lock of golden hair.

'I know someone who can take care of Pikachu'

'Very well then... but before we go, how may I call you?'

'Oh' — The boy said, brushing his hair with his free hand, laughing because he forgot to present himself — 'You can call me Red'

Greetings everyone! I'll write the reasons I deleted the previous one.
1. Deleting the chapters did something unexpected. Friends told me that got bugged and couldn't read nor enter the story.
2. Since is a rewritten novel, I thought it would be better to start from zero.
3. I posted the WIP one and not the definite one lol.

Also I've noticed a lot of people who speaks spanish. Since my natal tongue is spanish, I can translate it if I get enough feedback.

Nothing more to say, thanks for reading my story.
