Multiversal time-travel was...'stranger' from normal time-traveling in the universe.
Although the Doctor could pilot the Tardis towards any universe, he had set the destination on the auto-navigation system for his first adventure outside his universe.
He would regret it later.
When the Tardis materialized, the Doctor thought he had mistakenly landed in modern-day London. Yet when he stepped out the Tardis onto the street, he recognized this was quite an unlucky moment for him.
After all, London certainly was not an abandoned apocalyptic empty city of death with flames burning everything in sight. "Blimey...where am I?" When the Doctor was taking in this devastating sight, he looked up at the sky to sight a Dalek flagship saucer descend from the clouds. A squadron of Daleks streamed out the saucer to quickly surrounded the man before he could retreat into the Tardis.
"Alert, Time-Lord biological signature detected!" the Dalek Supreme screeched.
"Oh, excellent...Daleks...remember me? Your favorite trickster, the Doctor? The Oncoming Storm?" the Doctor smiled coldly.
"Silence! Your name is of no relevance! You are a Time Lord, your species has almost been driven to the point of extinction! What are you doing on Earth!?" another Dalek asked.
"Ah...the Time Lords are almost extinct!?" the Doctor asked, suddenly serious.
"Your feign will not save you! Ex-terminate!"
"Oi!." the Doctor exclaimed, reaching for a jelly baby from his pockets. "My Tardis has a self-destruct button. Exterminate me only I will activate this before regeneration...you know what will happen when a Tardis self-destructs, don`t you?"
The Daleks hesitated. "You will not escape! All Time Lords must be ex-terminated!"
"Oh, do be quiet! Explain more about the almost extinct Time Lords of Gallifrey!" the Doctor glared.
"...You have excessive questions! Your home planet of Gallifrey is devastated when the Time Lords lost in the Time War after the aid of our outside benefactor! All the Time Lords except the one called the Master have fled the universe only to be ex-terminated by the Daleks!"
"Who is this benefactor?" the Doctor glared in response, drawing his sonic screwdriver.
"The identity of the benefactor is a secret!" the Dalek Supreme screeched. A laser blast from its stick aimed at the Doctor, making the tip of his greatcoat burst into flames "...Alert! Tardis self-destruct button is non-existent!"
"Oi, I only found this!" the Doctor quickly extinguished the flames only to be slightly scorched in the face. "Okay, you have me, it was a jelly baby! I really am in another universe, only you Daleks will forever fall for this!" the Doctor smiled to kick the Dalek away from him to press his sonic screwdriver. A sonic shockwave came out of the screwdriver to send the Daleks flying.
The Doctor bit the jelly baby, retreating into the Tardis as they were recovering.
"The Time Lord is escaping! Lord Davros, I need reinforcements to exterminate the Time Lord! Ex-terminate! Ex-terminate! Ex-terminate!"
"Hey Daleks, look over at the ground."
The Daleks`eye-stalks all whirled down to notice a small object on the ground. "What is this? Explain!"
"I think that everything is going to be self-explanatory in a moment. Tally-ho!" The Doctor answered as the object exploded, causing a wave of ice to engulf the entire street, quickly shattering all the Daleks against the surrounding building walls. The Tardis projected a small force field around her pilot, protecting the Doctor.
"I wanted to test the hypothesis of what would happen when I used the sonic screwdriver on a future Earth fire-extinguisher." the Doctor calmly closed the doors of the Tardis behind him.
What on Earth happened to this universe?
The Doctor stared at the Tardis console monitor.
After dematerializing the Tardis into the time vortex to retrieve another greatcoat, he had secretly began journeying around this mysterious apocalyptic parallel universe. After a time, he had finally recognized something: In this universe, the man known as the Doctor was never born.
Since the Doctor did not exist to protect this universe, many of his enemies became undefeatable, victoriously destroying the universe across time and space. The Time Lords had been defeated endlessly by the carnival of evil in the Doctor-less cosmos. At the end, the Daleks had declared war on the weakened Time Lords to force them into near-extinction. The Master became the last Lord of Time, strangely the only being who could protect the space-time continuum. The entire universe was presently in a crisis, with all of the Doctor`s enemies ever known in a war over all of creation.
The Doctor signed. He knew from analyzing the Tardis`s data about this universe that unlike the universe he originated from, he cannot interfere in this universe`s history since all universes have their Laws of Time. Only...who was this mysterious benefactor the Daleks mentioned? An outsider too...what an unanswered question.
After all, since this universe had no Doctor to begin with his interference would only create potential time-paradoxes. This universe`s death was going to be a moment that will happen over time.
For the present he could only observe, never interfere. The rest of the infinite multiverse still calls to him, the fateful journey eternal for this lonely madman in a box.
"Time to be elsewhere, eh dear?" the Doctor asked sadly to dematerialize the Tardis.
What would a universe be without the Doctor?
