Sunlight Sonata
Daniel patiently sat next to the Gate on the Unas' home world, watching the tall grass of the field before him undulate in the wind. It was a sunny, bright day, with not a cloud to be seen in the sky. In the distance, the two moons of this planet shone their pale white despite the late hour of the morning.
A soft rustle in the bushes nearby made him turn and look. An Unas. Daniel smiled. Chaka. After studying them for so many months he had learned to differentiate the different Unas living here. "Hey Chaka," he called out.
Chaka let out a little growl and checked the field for... for what? Predators? Daniel didn't know, unaware if they had predators at all. Well, saved for the Goa'ulds, who didn't really counted as such. The alpha Unas seemed to be satisfied that nothing big was around, so he hopped out of the forest and walked to Daniel, then crouched/sat before him. "Danell..."
Smiling, Daniel greeted him. "A cha'aka. I brought you something..." He looked in the pockets of his gear.
Chaka moved forward and sniffed around Daniel's gear, then stole one of his chocolate bars as Daniel chuckled. "Hey!" he protested, as Chaka unwrapped it with his teeth and ate it with a grin, purring.
Daniel snorted, grinning. "You big smug thief."
Chaka grinned and leaned closer again, pressing the part of the bar he was holding between his teeth against Daniel's lips to share with him.
Daniel blinked in surprise and shock, but parted his lips, letting the bar into his mouth until his lips touched Chaka's, his academic mind going on tangents about if this was how mother Unas fed their youngs and if Chaka saw him as a juvenile Unas in need of being taught all their society and culture's codes while another thing with a mind of its own in his pants was declaring all the scholarly stuff boring and pushing for another explanation.
Chaka pulled back once they were done eating.
Blinking, Daniel sat still for a moment, trying to figure out what to do now. "Huh... aka... thank you... right! Something for you." He looked in his gear again and got out a small Walkman. "Walkman," Daniel said, showing the yellow and black box to Chaka. "We listen to music with it."
Chaka leaned closer and sniffed it.
"Huh, no, it doesn't quite work that way," Daniel said, grabbing the headset and gently putting one earpiece against Chaka's ear. "Here, listen."
The music hadn't been playing for 20 seconds that already Chaka had jumped back, growling.
Daniel blinked. "... I guess you're not a Beethoven fan then..."
