Ch.1

-Misguided Gosts

I lied on my back on my conferrable bed mattress, starring at my black colored ceiling, listening to "Strawberry Gashes" by Jack of Jill. This was pretty much how I spent most of my afternoons, either this or being forced by Janna to "go be a teen" and "have some fun"

I honestly didn't know the meaning of 'Fun' anymore. It had been almost a year sense my parents died, and i've isolated myself from basically, everything.

In my eyes, a life without my parents is a life that isn't worth living.

There was a knock on my door, and I turned the music off with my radio remote. "Come in." I called.

In walked my older brother, Jeremy.

"You look like shit." I commented.

"Thanks," he said sarcastically, a hint of a smile tugging on his lips. "here."

I reached my hands out, and he dropped two white pills into my hand, I raised my eyebrow.

"First day of school tomorrow," he said, "it'll help."

I sighed and nodded, Jeremy and I have always been close, we went through everything together. "Thanks."

"Don't let Elena see," he warned me.

I chuckled, "Of course not." I responded dryly stuffing the two pills under my pillow.

Jeremy sighed, "I'll see you tomorrow, I'm going out," he said.

I smirked, "Say hello to vic for me." I teased.

It was his turn to smile now, "Sure."

He closed my door, I waited until I herd the retreating footsteps going down the stairs silently and then sighed.

Tomorrow would be my first day of Freshman year in high school, Jeremy was a Junior and Elena was a Sophomore. I'd be judged as soon as I stepped in the door, either i'd be a bad ass like Jeremy or a Goodie like Elena. I would be compared ether way. People would say, "Oh! Marni, the youngest Gilbert who lost her parents in a car crash" and that was something I was defiantly was not prepared for.

"Marni, Dinner!" Jenna called up the stairs,

"I'll be down in a sec." I called back and lifted myself off my bed sliding on my knee high house shoes.

I took a seat down at the table, picking at Jenna's mush-resembling mashed potato's.

I herd giggles coming down the stairs, and I rolled my eyes slightly not looking up, It was Elena and Bonnie, that wasn't hard to guess.

"Hey Marni." Elena said smiling at me sympathetically.

I raised my eyebrow, she was giving ME sympathy? As if the death of our parents didn't effect her?

I glared at her and rose from my seat, "Fuck off." I mumbled back grabbing my black jumper and walked out the house.

I was wearing shorts that hardly covered my back side, and house shoes. I mentally cursed myself for being so stupid to come out here like this. It was freezing cold.

Whatever.

I made my way to the grill and spotted just who I was looking for, I walked passed my brother and vicki, they were snogging so I'm pretty sure they didn't see me; and my eyes met with Cody Lockwood, "Marni." he smirked. Then eyed what I was wearing and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh shut up." I mumbled.

He smiled, "What can I do for you?"

I gave him the most adorablest pout I could muster and put my arms around his neck. "Can I stay at yours?"

He rolled his eyes and chuckled, "How could I resist you?"

"You cant." I teased.

Cody was HOT, a sophomore, had a drivers license, was very respectful and a good listener, and sadly... he was gay.

"Come on," he said tugging me by the pocket of my jumper.
