I know I should be working on my other stories, but the Epic and Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandoms have me distracted.

Just a little one-shot for Barricade day. Enjoy!

For some reason they take away my line spaces. :P. So now instead of stanzas its one big mess.

Disclaimer:I don't own Les Miserables

They thought they could change the world

with their honeyed words and red banner to follow

They believed they could change the world

Take away the pain and sorrow

They said they could change the world

They preached to the poor and hungry

"Come with us and we will change the world" They called

At least they could change the country.

That day on the scarlet barricade when they were asked

"Why?"

"Because we need to change the world,"

They let their crimson banner fly.

Then the storm with hail of bullets

and thundering roars of gunshots that were hurled

They didn't care for the risks, the foolish students they were

They knew they were changing the world.

Then they were drowning in blood

blood as red and ruby as the noble flag that fell

eyes reflecting the starry sky above

The next morning, there were no mourning bells.

But in death they were victorious

The horizon painted like the drowned flag that lay unfurled

lips curled upward facing the dawn

Because they did change the world
