This is a fanfiction that happens in season 8
Rory was offered to be on the campaign trail with Obama but a week into the campaign the New York Times called her and wanted her to come work for them. She did not know what to do, there was only one person that she could call to give her some advice. Luke and Loreali have gotten back together.
She dialed that familiar number it rang and rang; finally her mom answered the phone.
Loreali: Hey, my daughter the fruit of my lions, what do I owe this pleasure.
Rory: I have a problem.
Loreali: Ok what is going on?
Rory: Well I just got a call from the New York Times, they want me Mom, they want me to come work for them, and I don't know what I should do. I mean I love this chance that I have been given but it's the New York Times, I would be making so much more money and of course I would be closer to home. What should I do?
Loreali: I cannot tell you that. Of course I would love it if you came back here but that is being selfish of me you have to make this choice by yourself. You have to weigh the pros and cons and decided what is best for you. I think we both know what you will do. I love you babe.
Rory: I love you too; I think I know what I am going to do. I think I am coming home to take that job. I would be foolish to pass this up. I will see you in a couple of days. Tell Luke I will be looking forward to tasting his wonderful coffee.
Loreali: I will. See you soon.
Rory: Bye Mom
Rory felt so much better after talking to her Mom. She knew what she was going to do all along but she felt like she needed that it helped to confirm it. Rory found her supervisor and explain the situation and he completely understood and wished her good luck in her future.
Loreali went to Luke's very excited. As she entered the door Luke noticed her chipper attitude.
Luke: Hey, why are you so happy?
Loreali: Well I am here to see you and you always make me happy and also in a few short days our Rory is coming home.
Luke: What, why what happened? Is she ok?
Loreali: She is fine she is better than fine she got a job at the New York Times, she said that she can't wait to taste your coffee.
Luke: I am so happy.
