i. sakura
She hits and she heals and sometimes if she wonders if they're all damned, and if there is such a thing a salvation, and it is times like those that she walks to the bench. She looks at it and sits down and thinks of little boys who are scared of the dark and twelve year olds who want to kill their siblings and she cries, because, it's so damn hard. And then she gets up and walks away and realizes that there is nothing she can do if there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
ii. hinata
She can see the enemy when they are miles away, and she can see the hidden weapons, and she can see the backstabbers and traitors. She can see things, and so she sees her one true love kiss a civilian. She runs to her friends and they curse him and they hug her and they all cry together, because, honestly, it seems like there is no happy ending for any of them.
iii. ino
She is hated and loved because of her job as a Torture and Interrogation Specialist, because it is her job to find information by any means necessary. A lot of people call her a slut, and others call her a bitch, and the rest call her a hero, but she knows that none of them are right. She is just a girl.
iv. tenten
She stabs and hits and hurts because it is her job. She has slept with men she detests to find information, and she has seen little girls crying over the bodies of their dead fathers. She stabs and hits and hurts, and she knows that one day, she won't be there to hurt anymore, and this is the best thing she has ever heard.
v. temari
She was the wind, and she was freedom, and she loved it. She would fly on her fan and she would kill without remorse and she was savage and loved it. She would hit the younger children and smile cruelly as they cried and sometimes she would let Gaara have them. Sometimes, she dreams of those days, and thinks of how wicked she was, and shudders. Yet, she would do it all again, if she could regrow her leg and fly again.
vi. kurenai
She is an illusion and she wishes she knew what was real and what was the illusion and whether she will live to another day. Some days, she will look at her child, and hate the fact that he decided to be a ninja 'just like Papa was!' She watches him return from his missions bloody and battered and smiling, because he did it, and she hopes that this will happen again and when she is stabbed by Pein, she wishes that her child will live another day.
vii. tsunade
She is afraid and she hates it, hates the fear, and hates the weakness. She is the leader who cries when no one is looking, and there was only one person she could show her weakness in front of and he's dead now. She drinks to get rid of the fear and the sadness and the sorrow and why won't they stop dying?! Ironically, the first time she ever really smiles, she is about to die, and it is her this time, and not someone she loves.
viii. shizune
She is weak and she dreams of being strong. She doesn't know why she was Tsunade's apprentice, with her imperfect chakra control, and her low chakra levels. Sometimes, she wonders what would have happened if Tsunade hadn't needed her help to pay the debts, and if she would still be wandering the streets, crying and alone.
ix. koharu
She is old and frail and she needs power. She knows that not many people like her, but she doesn't care because as long as she has the power, it's fine. She glares and acts strong and slowly she can feel her body slowly breaking, and she hates it. She needs the power.
x. kunoichi
They hurt and heal and see and love and hate and stab and kill and fly and hide and cry and break and wipe their tears away because they are kunoichi.
