The Old Council

Yen Sid watched as the gummi ship flew away. Sora needed to regain what he lost during the Mark of Mastery exam. Hopefully a trip to the Olympus Coliseum will do that. However, Yen Sid was still not at ease. Xehanort has blindsided them, and it wasn't the first time.

The dark keyblade wielder's actions had reduced their numbers over a decade ago. Eraqus was no more, and his pupils Terra, Ventus, and Aqua were trapped. Xehanort whom was believed defeated was actually putting his plan in action for years. Even though he was defeated twice by Sora and his friends, he had returned again and again, stronger than he was before.

The wizard released a sigh. He left his study. After walking up on of his floating, magic staircases he reached a large mahogany door, a gold handle shined against the wood. But what stood out most was the golden engraving on the door. Five keyblade's pointed towards each other almost like a star.

He entered a round room. On the side was a large chair, that was for him. Surrounding the room where different things. One of his mirrors was against the wall, but this one had a red frame, with a skull on the top. A crystal ball sitting on a pillow, on top of a pedestal, a glass screen that looked like it should be part of a computer, and a large red gem embedded in the wall. The gem was the only object in the room that wasn't glowing. It wouldn't; after all Eraqus couldn't answer.

Yen Sid made his way to his chair. He had sent them messages saying he had dire news, regarding Xehanort. They couldn't help him now, they had their own situations to deal with, and like him were no longer keyblade masters, but they still needed to know.

Yen Sid sat down at his chair and waved his hand. The mirror was the first to respond.

"How are you doing? Great to see ya!" appearing in the mirror was a black cloaked figure wearing a skull mask. Normally that description would be scary, if the skull mask didn't look so silly and the voice weren't so silly and cheerful.

Next the crystal ball, "I heard it's been seven years since we spoke, good to see you haven't died in that time Yen Sid." A small old man, that was balding and wearing a white uniform, holding a staff that had what appeared to have an engraving of a tailed fairy on top appeared in the crystal ball. He looked old and feeble, but he may just be as powerful as Yen Sid.

Last was the screen, "You know I always enjoy quality time with friends, but I have a feeling this isn't a social call." In the screen appeared a middle-aged man. He had gray hair, green eyes, he was wearing glasses, a dark green suit, and was holding a mechanical cane.

"Death, Ozpin, and Makarov, good to see you. I'm happy to hear you didn't perish seven years ago Makarov. We were all saddened," Yen Sid greeted.

"Yeah, great to see you Makky," Death said.

"It's always a relief to know a friend has survived," Ozpin stated.

"Thank you all," Makarov nodded, "If only the magic council were as welcoming as you, but never mind that. What have you called us for Yen Sid?"

Yen Sid closed his eyes for a minute to collect his thoughts then opened them again, "Xehanort has begun his move, I have called to warn you all."

Silence filled the room, "So he has revealed himself this soon?" Ozpin asked.

"Yes," Yen Sid answered, "And it's worse than we have feared."

"Would you elaborate for us?" Death asked, "Your duty is to be the overseer in our little group after all."

"We finally have an understanding on what happened twelve years ago," Yen Sid began, "After he vanquished Eraqus, he used the heart transfer technique to take Terra's body."

"What!" roared Makarov, "That technique was forbidden long ago, for obvious reasons"

"I know," Yen Sid nodded, "Aqua took Ventus and hid him. She then faced Xehanort in an attempt to free Terra, but despite her efforts she got trapped in the realm of darkness, and for a time Xehanort forgot who he was. But that didn't stop him from trying to find Kingdom Hearts."

"It seems even memory loss cannot wipe away a deeply embedded desire," Ozpin stated.

"Eventually he became a Heartless…"

"Excuse me," Death interrupted, "But we already know this part; Because he chose to give up his heart he still retained his sentience as a Heartless. His Nobody gathered other high ranked Nobody's to reach Kingdom Hearts."

"I've been dead for seven years," Makarov reminded, "This is the first time I've heard all this."

"That was not the true objective of his organization," Yen Sid clarified. This made the others look more serious.

"His Heartless manipulated the Witch Maleficent to gather the princesses of heart. His Nobody was tasked to gather twelve other Nobody's, connect them to Kingdom Hearts and make them into copies of himself."

"What?" Makarov asked, "Is that even possible?"

"Unfortunately, it is," Ozpin answered, "With the power of Kingdom Hearts, the heart transfer technique can be strengthened to unimaginable lengths."

"Then Xehanort would have thirteen seekers of darkness," Death surmised.

"Thirteen darkness's, seven lights," Yen Sid recited. Everyone knew what that meant.

"You said that Sora defeated the organization," Ozpin reminded.

"That I did, but apparently Xehanort had 'a back-up plan.'"

"What happened," Death was first to ask.

"When Xehanort became a Heartless, that gave him the power to travel through time. He recruited his past self to find more candidates incase Xemnas would fail," Yen Sid explained.

"Let me guess," Makarov closed his eyes, "He has succeeded."

"Thankfully not just yet," Yen Sid explained. The other three looked up in anticipation, "I recently held a mark of mastery test to make Sora and Riku masters. That was when Xehanort made his move."

"He tried to make Riku his vessel again?" Ozpin asked.

"Who's Riku?" Makarov asked.

"No, he tried to make Sora his vessel. Thanks to the appearance of Lea, we managed to save him in time, but Sora lost the power to become a master."

"So Xehanort only has twelve," Death stated.

"Correct."

"If he can accomplish so much, in such a short time, right under our noses no less," Makarov said, "It won't stay that way for long."

"That is why I have contacted you, Xehanort may come to your worlds to seek his thirteenth seeker, I suggest you keep an eye out."

"Xehanort wouldn't dare come here," Makarov growled.

"That's exactly what Eraqus thought," Death reminded. Everyone looked at the large red gem on the wall. The way it was, it was almost like a tombstone, for their lost friend.

"To think he would go this far to cause war," Ozpin thought, "How did we let things come to this?"

"We all saw that Xehanort had a fascination with the darkness," Makarov reminded, "Maybe his young self being part of this dark future was the cause."

"Regardless, we didn't stop it and now we are in quite the pickle," Death said.

"I've sent Sora to regain the powers he had lost," Yen Sid explained.

"Sora, twice he defeated Xehanort," Ozpin said.

"Well, when Xehanort was divided between his Heartless and Nobody, his power was divided between them, but it was still something commendable," Death said.

"Sounds like a capable young man," Makarov said.

"One of my colleagues recently asked me if 'can my children fight a war?'" Ozpin said.

"I know my children can fight a war," Makarov said, "But I wouldn't want them too."

"I understand," Death said, "Our people, the children we are trying to protect are now fighting the war we couldn't finish."

"We couldn't fight now if we tried," Ozpin reminded, "If I leave Remnant, Salem will follow, and the worlds doesn't need more Xehanort's."

"I am bound to my city now," Death said, "The Kishin can't escape either, but I'm no help."

"My guild needs me more. My seven-year absence has created damage that needs to be fixed," Makarov said.

"It can be difficult, but we must belief in those we place our legacy on," Yen Sid said. Silence came back into the room.

"Thank you for your call Yen Sid," Ozpin said, "We'll keep our eyes opened."

"We'll stay on our toes," Death said cheerfully.

"I'll see what I can do on my end, but I can't promise much," Makarov said.

"I'll keep you all informed," Yen Sid stood up, "I wish you well, there aren't that many of us anymore."

Will I do anything with this? Maybe? It will depend on what Kingdom Hearts 3 turns out. But right now, I'm more focused on my current fanfiction, The Huntsmen Key. It has nothing to do with this. I was just bored and I had this idea a while ago.
