Byakuya's Nightmare
Narr: One quiet day in the Seireitei, Byakuya-taichou stares out the window of his office. He stars for so long, that he begins to fall asleep.
Byakuya: (in dream) Hisana…
Byakuya: Where am I?
Hisana: Byakuya!!
Narr: Hisana waves to Byakuya from the distance.
Byakuya: Hisana!! How, you're supposed to be dead!!
Hisana: (clearly puzzled) Byakuya? Do you have a fever?
Byakuya:… no. Come, let us search for her.
Narr: Hisana runs off in search for her sister.
Byakuya: (thought) So, either I am hallucinating, or her dying was all a bad dream.
Hisana: Byakuya! Hurry up! Help me find my sister!!
Narr: Byakuya walks off with his wife.
Narr: The day ends with no success. They have not found Hisana's sister, and they are returning home. Byakuya carries Hisana on his back.
Hisana: We couldn't find her.
Narr: Hisana starts to cry.
Byakuya: Don't cry. We'll find her someday. (although this is completely out of character for Bya-kun, Remember, this is when he was married to Hisana, almost fifty years prior to the current storyline.)
Narr: The two go home together and rest.
Narr: Byakuya wakes to the sound of screams. He opens his eyes to find his wife, dead.
Byakuya: AAAAHHHHHH!!
Narr: Byakuya slays the hollow that killed his wife and takes her remains.
Byakuya: I shall not bury you, Hisana. Instead I shall use the powers of human transmutation to bring you back to life!! You will be given powers far superior than that of mankind!!
Narr: Byakuya tries Human Transmutation. It failed. In the end, he is left with nothing but a smoking pile of ash that used to be his wife.
Narr: Byakuya awakes.
Byakuya: (thought) it has been fifty years since that day. Why do I dream of it now?
Renji: Ano-taichou… You've been out of it for a while.
Byakuya: (startled despite his face showing no expression) Hmm. You got a problem with it. Renji.
Renji: No. It's just, you've been staring out the window for a while, do you have a fever?
Byakuya: Senbonzakura.
Renji: AGH!!
Narr: Bya-kun was sick of everyone thinking he had a fever. And that is the reason Renji was out for so long after Ichigo defeated him; he was recovering from what Byakuya did to him.
