She stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her clothes a neat pile in the corner. The last of the water siphoned from the bathtub and droplets of water fell from her auburn hair onto the large round orb that was her abdomen. Running her hand protectively along the mound, she felt a kick as the baby stretched inside her. She had never intended to be a mother, but when they had discussed abortion, Booth had brought up something that she had never before considered. "I know that you were greatly affected by what happened to your parents, and I'm just concerned about how abandoning this child could change you. I know that you never wanted a child, but I can't bear to throw away something precious that we've made. Don't you think that this child deserves to have a childhood just as much as you did?" Resting her head on his shoulder, she had wordlessly consented to have his child. She came back to the present as the mirror shifted before her and he appeared in the doorway. "It's kicking, Booth." She whispered. And together, they felt their hearts beat as one, inside their soon to be born child.
