AN: I do not own the song Lyrics or the characters. They belong to the late Jim Henson. I hope you like.

My Analysis of Underground
The short version

Sarah has to learn that she has to grow up in the movie, so that is what my analization is based on.

It's only forever Not long at all

When she has to grow up, she will be grown up forever and there is no turning back into the realm of childhood, but when she does grow up, time will fly ~ hence 'not long at all.'~

Lost and lonely

She is lost in life because everyone wants her to grow up and she has no one to be there for her.

No one can blame you For walking away

She has ignored the fact that she has to grow up and give up the fairy tale life and beliefs. But she is young and no one cam blame her for not wanting to grow up.

Too much rejection

But if she doesn't' give it up before she is forced to…

No love injection

No one will love her for what she really is; all they will see is the child in her. It could also mean something else. You understand me.

Life can be easy, It's not always swell

She has to understand that when she grows up, she might not think it is fair but when she realizes it, it might be easier for her ~hence life can be easy~

Don't tell me truth hurts, little girl Cause it hurts like hell

He is basically saying he knows it is not fair but the truth hurts, sometimes too much. She doesn't need to tell him that it is not fair because he already knows it.

But down in the Underground, You'll find someone true
She will meet people who make her realize that she has to grow up and realize that she can't take anything for granted, and he will be one, if she lets him, to show her how to grow up; he will tell her the truth. He will show her how to grow up because he loves her.

Down in the Underground, A land serene, A crystal moon, ah ah

The Underground is a place that will make her realize that she needs to grow up, be serene, and when she understands it, it will be as clear as a crystal moon. ~hence crystal moon~

That is my analysis of Underground, the short version.
