The body is hardly noticeable under the pile of blankets and it's hard for you to discern head from feet. The blanket mumbles and shifts in soft sleep. A head is poking out from beneath the covers now.
You smile. It's only 50 degrees outside, but this figure is prepared for artic storms. How he'll survive in New England, you're not sure.
You frown as other thoughts render you, momentarily, unable to leave.
You lean and kiss the brow furrowed in sleep.
He'll survive without you. You know that.
But can you?
