A/N This is an expanded version of my first story. Still the same just more detail
SO ALONE
Isabel Evans looked up at the flight board to see if her flight was on time. It was delayed and wouldn't leave for another hour. She had never been so alone in her life. Sure she had stunning super model looks. Isabel was a kind and compassionate woman, but in her search for perfection; she knew she came across as haughty and domineering. They used to call her the Christmas Nazi. All she wanted to do was to be the perfect daughter for her mother and father.
Isabel embraced her human side more than Max or Michael. She was comfortable with that part of her and preferred it. Yes she did use her powers, but for little things like heating soup and changing the color of something. Isabel loved and admired her adopted mother. She wanted to be just like her. Isabel wanted to make her mother proud of her. She longed for a husband and children. And a home where she could love and take care of them.
After a year on the run with Max, Michael, Kyle, Liz, and Maria she had enough. Isabel wanted to embrace her human side. She had enough of the alien side. Isabel made the painful decision and left them. Isabel also decided to stop using her alien powers. She wanted to be a normal human. After two years of living in San Diego; she realized that most men liked her superficially. They wanted to be seen with her for her looks. The men did not value her intelligence or her opinion. She was out with her boyfriend at dinner with some friends when he made a statement that she thought was ridiculous. Gently she chided him and corrected the statement. When they returned to their apartment that night the first thing he did after they entered the apartment was to turn on her and slap her across the face. Yelling as he did "You bitch. You are there to look good nothing else. You better agree with me and keep your mouth shut. Her boyfriend did not know how close he came to being instantly killed.
That night she packed a suitcase and left. She doubted he would follow her to the airport. She had used her alien powers and tied him up while he was asleep. Her thoughts wandered back to her husband. She loved him and he loved her till he found out she was an alien. Laying beside a man you love and made love with; and now having him shrinking from your very touch. How deeply he had hurt her. Adam professed his love for her, but she knew that deep down she repulsed him; so she gave him his freedom.
So there she sat alone. Isabel would if she could give up her looks and her powers Just to be loved for who she was.
