You miss them.
It hurts you, more then you tell people. You miss your home, your family. You miss the parents who just got married, the brother you've finally started to get along with. You miss her, the one girl who will sit through anything, no matter how much you ignore her. You miss the cheerleader who's become one of your best friends, you miss them. You miss they way you used to dance and sing with them. You miss performing with them. You miss them.
You need them.
He helps, a little. He helps ease your pain; he reminds you that things will be better. You think you might like him, more then a little. The others, they try. But it's not the same. You miss them. You crave them. You regret leaving, now more then ever.
You want so desperately to go back, to your home, family, brother, cheerleader, her, and them. But you can't, not until he leaves, and never comes back. He terrifies you, he's thing that you think stalks you in the night. He's the one thing keeping you from them. You'd do anything to come back, anything to get out of this not-so-wonderful place. You miss them. But deep down inside, you know you can't ever come back, not unless the monster is gone. You need them. You're not yourself.
You need them.
You crave them. And you can never go back.
