Put on a mask for others, but don't worry they won't find out.

You've perfected the act,

There is no reason to worry,

And yet here you are asking yourself why it one day fell.

Inevitably it did,

But the question was in front of who.

You could chose when it would fall,

But that may be before you're ready for it.

So instead you chose to lie in wait and take what comes.

As life went on and the darkness creeped up on you,

You realized that day by day,

Week by week,

Month by month,

It became harder to put on the mask.

And one day it fell.

In the morning you tried to put a smile on you're face,

Act happy you said to yourself.

But you can't,

It happened.

No more mask,

No more friends,

No more normality.

As the day went on everyone saw,

The true colors of the one,

The one they thought would never succumb to the darkness.

But what they didn't know,

Was that what made you seem indestructible,

Was that you knew the darkness you're whole life.

Loneliness,

It was you're best friend as a kid,

Even when surrounded by others.

Depression,

It would creep up on you as a teen,

Even when you seemed to shine bright like the sun.

So now as a teen everyone saw,

The fact you were one with the darkness,

The whole time.

They saw,

And realized,

It was why you were so good at acting,

You did it every waking moment of your life.

And so the mask had fell but don't worry,

You wouldn't act rashly,

You had lived with it for so long.

You would live with it until you were caught completely.
