This is just a quick little bit of bumblebee fluff I thought up before going to bed last night as I work on my Opposite AU.

It had been a long day for Blake. Yang had been making even more bad puns than usual, and Weiss had almost exploded from the blonde's antics. It was a relief, then, to retreat to the Library and bury herself in a book. She just hadn't counted on her fearless leader finding her.

"Blake! There you are!" Sighing, Blake put down her book.
"Ruby. What are you doing here?"
"Well, Yang just keeps getting worse and Weiss is trying to do homework and I really don't wanna be there when she snaps. What are you reading?"
Blake closed her eyes slowly. She could sympathize with the younger girl.
"It's about a man who is prophesied to fight a being of pure darkness. The prophecy says he'll die, but he doesn't care, because his death can save the lives of the people he loves."
"Wow. That sounds really amazing. And kinda tragic. Oh!" Ruby pulled a book from under her cloak. "It's the book you were reading when Yang dragged me over to you the second time we met! The one about a man with two souls! It's really good."
"I'm glad you like it." Blake chuckled. "SO are you planning on doing any reading…?" Blake gestured to the Library around them.
"Yup!" Quickly, Ruby opened her book and buried her face in it, allowing a grinning Blake to resume her own reading.

It wasn't long before Ruby's head appeared under Blake's arm as she snuggled into the Faunus.
"Hey Blake?"
"Hmm?"
"How does the story end? How does the man do it? How does he keep going when he knows that everything relies on him?"
"It isn't easy for him, and he made a lot of mistakes along the way, the biggest of which was hardening himself to the point he alienated everyone, even the people he loved. Especially the people who loved him."
"It can't be easy having that much responsibility."
"It isn't. But the man does it, because by the end he understands that why he does something is just as important as what he does."
"He sounds really brave." Ruby sighed as she tried to snuggle closer.
"He was." Blake wrapped an arm around Ruby, pulling her closer. "Ruby, I want you to promise me something. Promise me that you will always think about what you do, and why you do it. Even if has to be after the decision, go back and remember why you make the decisions you make as Leader."
"I promise. And Blake? I promise I'll never distance myself from you. Ever."
Smiling softly, Blake ruffled Ruby's hair.
"I know."
