"I did not!" Jack's countenance changed from shocked to predatory as he circled around Will, stopping to poke him in the arm to announce his revelation. "It was you! You did it. That explains these ridiculous accusations from your part, when you know I wasn't even near the chandelier."
Will stood stoic, masterfully hiding his annoyance in glaring at the bars of their cell, wondering in passing if they were the same all across the world. This Singaporean one reminded him of the one in Port Royal, which triggered an eye roll, and a scoff of doubt if ever releasing Jack from said brig was a wise move after all.
"It was you, Jack, I saw you. And I've heard the stories, this wouldn't be the first time," Will swished around, grabbing Jack's wrist, bending his fingers into his fist to cease the incessant poking. "You just can't resist a good show, can you? No. Don't even answer that. I saw you enjoying every moment of it."
Shy-like, Jack veered his eyes from Will's and shuffled his feet, raising a hand to cover Will's holding his. A wicked smile played the corner of his lips when his eyes lit with amusement and the light of great accomplishment. "You saying you didn't?"
Will blinked and frowned, answering carefully with a suspicious tilt of his head. "You know I love fireworks… Jack…"
"As if I could be mistaken, watching you stand there in reverend awe, clutching my hand as you look like you're seeing stars themselves burst for your delight, that respect of the power, the beauty, how it surrounds and alights you… Aye, I do know."
Will's face softened unwittingly, but Jack's words struck home. Still, he tried to stay stern. They were jailed after all. "But this was…"
"Well it was bloody well prettier in your honour, than of that, that frog-faced, mushroom-y slag of an Emperor of theirs. And you just admitted you liked it."
Teetering on the familiar brink of going mad or bursting into laughter, Will let out a stifled chuckle, unable to believe his ears. "In my honour?"
"What? You thought I'd sabotage their fancy fair only for fun? William. It's like you don't know me at all! …Now. Let's get us out of here."
"But Jack…" Will nodded towards the door slowly, stifling Jack's enthusiasm with the gravity of his voice. "…those are strap hinges."
