A girl called Athena Adams is special teenager, she may just look like a normal human being but if you look closely you can see that her left hand is in a weird place as it hangs downward this is called Cerebral Palsy.
Athena has been at Rise High School for two years, she finds it hard to make friend much less have a boyfriend. People at Rise High School make her life a living hell by pushing her down stairs, slamming her into locker, just for the one thing that she cannot control. Her disability, ever heard of people do not like what they do not understand well this was definitely the case with the people that have bullied Athena.
Without her knowing Blaine Galloway, the popular boy of Rise High School has been keeping an eye on Athena, for a reason he knows all too well as he knows what she thinks about herself from all the bullying that she receives from everyone in the school but him.
Athena doesn't know what to do with all the bullying she receives, she knows she cannot rely on the teachers as they only see what they want to see just like the rest of the people in this school. So she does the only thing she can think to do which is bottle up her emotions and take them out on herself when she is alone, she doesn't do anything to herself physically but mentally she tells herself she is not worth anyone's time and that she should have died and let someone else live instead of her. the reason why Athena doesn't not do anything physically to herself is because she doesn't want to kill herself but just to erase everyone's memory of her just so she cannot get hurt by anyone else again.
Athena had told her parents even though they try their best to get the bullying sorted, the school still elects to ignore the constant pleas on the Adams family which means that the situation just carries on and does not get sorted. The bullying just escalates from name calling to shoving her into lockers.
One day it all became too much and she did the one thing she promised never to do.
She killed herself
The sad thing about Athena
No one but Blaine cared for her enough to try and help her.
Author's Note
The reason I have wrote this story is to raise awareness for cerebral palsy and to also raise the importance of the effects of bullying on disabled people because their self -esteem is already lowered due to their disability and getting bullied only lowers it more.
I have written this in the worst case scenario I can think of and some of the things about Athena Adams I have based of myself
