My best friend asked me for daily prompts and I came up with this one: Kate/Nikola on a mission. A car pursuit with Kate driving. Comedy and less than 800 words. I decided to try writing on this too because it actually sounded fun! So here's my take on this.

"Better hold on, Vlad. Things are about to get rough," Kate said, smirking at him.

He was already paler than usual, both hands wrapped around the handle above his head, his knuckles white from the grip.

"I fail to see how they could become any rougher!" he said frantically, his eyes on the road as she passed another car at an alarming speed, other drivers honking at them but it quickly faded away as they got away from the traffic jam she has just zigzagged through.

"Like this," she said, taking a sharp turn that send his head bumping against the window.

"Ow!" he said indignantly, wincing but not daring to release the handle to rub his sore skull.

"I thought vampires were supposed to be tough. Stop whining."

"If I wasn't so worried about you sending us to our death, I would make you regret that remark."

"Cute."

"We can't even see them anymore! Admit that they got away and let's go home." he said, glaring at her.

"Watch and learn," she said confidently, taking another corner so fast that he saw his entire life pass before his eyes.

He did, not even daring to blink as she kept swerving through the streets at a mad pace, his heart hammering in his chest. He wasn't sure that vampires could die from a stroke but if she didn't stop, he would find out soon enough.

He suddenly caught a glimpse of their target's car driving along a parallel street, going just as fast as they were. She had caught up with them and even managed to get ahead before a building hid them from sight again. As expected, she took a ninety degrees turn as soon as she could, slamming on the breaks when she was in the middle of the next street, cutting their enemies off. The tires screeched loudly as the car drifted to a stop, Nikola making a high pitched noise, his eyes impossibly wide. She leaped out of the car as soon as she could, heading towards the other car with her gun drawn.

"Out of the car, hands over your head now," she said firmly, her face serious.

Nikola watched her, impressed, as she got the stolen abnormal back, threatening to shoot anyone who would be stupid enough to steal from the Sanctuary again.

She was back behind the wheel a few minutes later, smiling brightly as she waved the small cage lightly, clearly back in a brighter mood. She put it on the backseat and grinned at him, buckling her seatbelt.

"That's a job well done! So. Going home?" she smirked, starting the engine.

"Slower this time around. Just because I am hard to kill doesn't mean you should keep trying. Also, it worries me that Helen lets you drive her cars."

"Good!" she said cheerfully, backing out of the small alley before turning the car around. She stopped and winked at him before smashing the gas pedal down, sending them speeding up along the road once more.

"Slower. Kate. Kate! I want out! Stoooooooop!" he yelled, once more clinging onto the handle for dear life.

This was the last time he would get near a godamn car, especially if she was the one driving.
