Callie, George and Izzie were down in the pit trying to help as many people as they could. The hospital was so chaotic because of the ferry crash so, Callie told the interns to just discharge as many patients as fast as they could to keep their minds off of Meredith, who was admitted upstairs. It was hard for George to concentrate though with Mer almost dying, Izzie being a pain in the ass causing a fight with his wife, and Callie… he knew she was upset too. He had to do something, so when he finished up with a patient, he went and found his wife on the other side of the pit.

George brushed up close behind her and whispered, "I need to talk to you, in private. It's important." She looked at him and could tell something was up.

"Sure. Uh, Mr. Smith, your ankle will be fine. I'll have someone come by with your prescription and wrap it up for support."

"Great! Thanks, really appreciate it."

Callie smiled, said goodbye to her patient and turned to George. "What's wrong? Do you need help with a patient? Is Meredith ok?"

"Just, here. Come here." He pulled her over into a small supply closet.

"Why are we in here?"

"So we can be alone."

"George we can't have sex now! I know you're worried about Meredith but have you seen this hospital? It is like a zoo!"

"Yeah, I know which is why I brought you in here, so we can talk."

"Oh. Okay…"

George sighed, took both her hands and brought her closer to him. "Promise me that whenever you go somewhere by water, whether it is a lake, or a pool, or even take a shower, promise me you'll tell me. I need you to promise me that." Callie was kinda confused but saw worry in her husband's eyes.

"George, are you okay?"

"Watching Shepherd go through this with Mer… I don't ever want that to be me. If something happens to you, if you drown, if I lose you right now… I don't think I could do it. I mean you helped me, are helping me, get through with losing my dad. Who's going to help me if I lose you?"

"George stop. You're over tired, it's been a long day, and one of your best friends is facing a medical crisis. You shouldn't be worrying about something like this. There is no need to, ever. I don't plan on leaving you!"

"Yeah but I should be thinking about it. I'm responsible for you now; I have to take care of you. But for me to do that you need to be alive."

She wrapped her arms around his lower back and held him close. "Okay! Okay, if it will make your mind at ease, I promise you that when I go near any type of water that I could submerge myself in, I will let you know."

"Thank you." George smiled a little and sighed in relief. Callie hugged him real tight to comfort him some more.

"You all good now? Do you need a break?" He let go of his wife but put her face in his hands and began to kiss her like crazy. As he started to untie her scrub pants and pull her shirt up, she took his hands away.

"George I told you, no sex right now…"

"But you said I could take a break. And I know for a fact that you didn't take one yet either. So I think we should take our breaks together. You know, relieve some stress…" George smiled and started to play with her hair.

"You know me to well O'Malley."

They both started to laugh, he kissed her and began to pull off Callie's shirt again as she untied his scrub pants.
