Ruby was sitting in her dorm room, unpacking her things. It was the first day of college, and she was already a nervous wreck. In Highschool, everyone was immature. She felt she was suited better with adults around her. Maybe she would even meet somebody…to be with her. Ruby excitedly threw a pile of clothes on her bed, not caring about anything, and she ran out of her room and into the meeting room, which was located in the "Entertainment Room", and stood there until the principal approached the stadium. Other students excitedly chatted around her, while she stood nervously. "Good morning, everybody," the principal said. "I am Mrs. Yellow Diamond, but just call me Dr. YD. I am honored to be your principal. We are going to have a wonderful year, while you young adults slowly become older ones! We are so happy to see you all grow." It was an odd speech, but it was an interesting one nonetheless.
A young adult, looking a little older than Ruby, approached her. "I'm Rose Quartz," she said. "I would love to become a principal and guide all of these young, wonderful children! Welcome to Sky Spire State University!" "I'm Ruby, and thanks for the warm welcome," Ruby said. "It's nice to meet you, Rose, and I hope we have some of the same classes together." "Yes, me too," Rose said. "Well, Ruby, I have to get going, but I'll see you later." Rose left hurriedly. Ruby looked around frantically, desperately searching for someone to talk to. "Eh, I'll try again later," she said to herself, and went back to her dorm. "I wonder who my dorm buddy's going to be." She finished unpacking slowly and only finished just a few hours later.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. "Who could it be?" Ruby asked herself, and cautiously answered the door. A woman about her age was standing there. "Hi, Ruby," she said. "I received an email saying we're going to be dorm room buddies this year. I know this is creepy, maybe, but I just wanted to get to know you a little better. I'm Sapphire Luttrell." Ruby heard her email notification go off, but she thought it was just spam. "Okay, Sapphire," she said after she checked it. Gee, she's a little cute, if not a lot.
They chatted for the rest of the morning. Since it was moving day, when the students settled in their dorms, they were allowed to visit and chat with other students. Dorm buddies had a dorm room next to their buddy's room, and that buddy had their own room as well. It was a bit strange how they added in extra rooms, but hey, Ruby couldn't control how they were made.
As Ruby and Sapphire chatted, Ruby got to see more of Sapphire.
A/N: Sorry for the really short chapter! I will be updating soon, so stay tuned!
