In the fanfiction Bingo game I got the pairing Miyako/Koushiro. I've never even considered making them a pairing before, so it was interesting. I've always only pictured Koushiro with Mimi before.
Anyway, this is what I ended up with!
Fingers gently tapping away on the keyboard. Silent whispers begging the computer to do as asked. Eyes lightening up when everything goes according to plan. She sighs while watching him work. She used to love Ken Ichijouji. Used to. Not anymore. Not since she got to know him better.
He looks up from the screen and she quickly looks away when his eyes lock on to hers. She knows that her eyes are like an open book and she can't let him see. Because he already have someone.
Her fingers tap away on the keyboard as she tries to work out the quirks in her latest program. It shouldn't take her as long as it does, but she finds herself getting distracted every other second, finds that once again her eyes are resting on him. Watching his hair move as he shakes his head in frustration. Watching his eyes monitoring what happens on the screen.
Suddenly he gets up and walks over to her. She shudders when he lean down next to her, his strawberry-hair slowly coming into her view. She can feel his breath against her cheek as he looks through her code.
"You missed a parenthesis here."
He points towards the screen and she blushes.
"An easy fix though. I can't spot anything else that needs to be done."
She quickly fixes it and tries to start the program again. This time it works flawlessly.
"Thanks, Koushiro."
He pats her shoulder, smiling, before returning to his own wall of code. She tries her best not to follow him with her gaze, but fails and finds herself staring at his back.
She doesn't think it's fair that someone else have him, but she would never to anything to try and destroy his relationship. She's watched enough movies to know that such actions always come back to haunt one. Instead she settles in admiring him from afar. The problem is – everyone knows.
She adds a new line of code to the program, a lame attempt to occupy herself, before getting up from her seat. There's no use in sitting there anyway, not when he's such a distraction. She packs her things and walks towards the door, one last glance at him.
"Miyako."
A chill runs down her spine when he calls her name. Slowly she turns around, her cheeks hot and red, trying to tell herself that it's nothing, he's not going to smoother her with kisses, especially not with all the other kids around.
"No, forget it, it was nothing. I'll see you tomorrow."
His eyes are less of an open book than hers, bus she smiles towards him, certain that she saw something there.
"Yes, I'll see you later."
Her steps are light as she walks down the corridor, out of the school. Once she's out on the street she stops and looks towards the school again, her smile growing wider.
Now she knows that he feels it too. She's not sure how strongly he feels it, but she knows it's there and it makes her warm inside. She can take anything now that she knows that he likes her too.
