lostmoonchild: Okay, I wanted to have this posted earlier but finally got around to it today. So I hope everybody will have a Happy Easter! I don't own Inuyasha and unfortunately never will.
Arms of an Angel
"Hey, take it easy, will ya?" Inuyasha shouted.
Kagome rolled her eyes and took care of the inu-hanyou's wounds. "Oh, don't be a baby." Kagome scolded gently, her touches becoming even more gentle.
Inuyasha made a face but relaxed under the miko's touches. How many times had her hands carefully cared for his injuries? He known for some time he couldn't count that high. How many times had Kagome cried his name when he was injured in battle? When had he only saw nothing but concern in the priestess's eyes?
He looked behind him at Kagome and saw concern along with love in her eyes. He could feel her fingers, cool to the touch and soft, barely touching his flesh. He couldn't remember Kikyo's hands ever being that soft, her eyes so gentle and loving.
"There we go." Kagome said, briefly running her fingers through Inuyasha's currently black hair.
New moon, Inuyasha's least favorite time of month. But it was tolerable now since he had Kagome and their friends with him. But he wanted Kagome with him. Her presence made everything better. How many new moons had she been by his side, telling him that everything would be alright? That everything would be normal again in the end?
Normal for who though? Inuyasha didn't have any family alive other than Sesshomaru and he didn't want to be around the bastard. Sango's brother was officially dead so she had no family. Miroku, he had no one either. Granted Sango and Miroku were going to be married so they would be the other's family. Shippo was an orphan, no family that they knew of. Kagome…
What would happen to Kagome? Would she go home and continue living? Pretend nothing had happened when she would remember?
Gods, he didn't want her to leave.
Inuyasha stiffened when he felt someone wrap their arms around him but relaxed when the scent of strawberry shampoo filled his senses. Kagome sensed what he was thinking and she didn't know the answers, she didn't know what was going to happen.
Inuyasha put his hands on Kagome's hands and smiled. She was his angel sent to him from another world.
Just like his mother had promised. She promised one day he would be safe again in the arms of an angel.
